Love and tears in this one

Loved Griff's and Britta's story. For him to grow up with the childhood he and his brother had, it is amazing that he cautiously understood love when he found it. He just didn't know how to deal with it. Britta was his to love forever, if he could just take back his reaction to her assumed betrayal. He works hard to show her that he has grown, learned from his mistakes, but has he? You should definitely grab this one and the first book in the series to find out. You won't be sorry you did.

You need to read this book

You Need To Read This Book This is the second book in Shayla Blacks More than words series and this was a marvelous addition. Griffin Reed is trying to win back Britta Stone and his son Jamie after leaving them and making not being in their life for three years. With Keeleys helps and his brother back in his wife he tries to get to know his son. Watching the relationship was great between Jamie and Griffin and seeing how much Britta was really trying do what was right for her son but also try To keep her heart safe. Shayla did a great job that you don't want to put this book down and you keep wanting more. Can't wait for Harlows book.

    Emotional journey

This storey moves at a nice pace. I was invested in the characters and cried with them. Time well spent.

    4.5 GLORIOUS STARS!

4.5 STARS After reading the first book in this series, More Than Want You, I was craving this book like a junkie in need of a fix. After I devoured it, I was left with a feeling of sweet satisfaction. This book is a standalone and you don't have to read More Than Want You to be able to follow the story, but you're going to appreciate this book a whole lot more if you do. And since the first book was freaking amazing, I'm going to HIGHLY suggest you read it first. I'm not going to say too much about the story. It is told strictly from Griffin's POV. It picks up near the end of More Than Want You where Griffin learns that he has a son. He's messed up with Britta in a major way and sets out to make things right. Well, it's a rather steep uphill battle for this infuriating guy so brace yourself for a delightfully intense and intriguing slow burn. The thing I love most about this series, is that like a movie, the story has a soundtrack. Shayla Black has created playlists for both books, and has incorporated the sentiments of the songs into the story and the plot, bringing an extra dimension to the emotions in the story. As someone who LOVES music, I'm declaring this idea is "story planning level: genius."

The journey was long and arduous but well worth it

I adore Shayla Black! She masterfully delivers story after story full of passion, love, heartbreak, and redemption. Griff and Britta's journey through their painful history and reconciliation is both poignant and moving. If you read More Than Want You (encouraged but not necessary), you'll better understand the emotions and reason for Griff's estrangement from everyone that he loves. We start More Than Need You immediately after Griff discovered he has a child with Britta. From that moment forward, he vowed to become the husband and father that she and Jamie needed. It was a difficult road but one he was willing to walk even if he had to play dirty to get what he wanted. And with Britta harboring so much resentment, anger, and heartbreak, he needed every advantage. Griff and Britta broke something inside of me. I felt so many emotions reading their story. I was frustrated, angry, and sad the majority of the time. Griff's heartbreak over his actions and how they affected everyone cut deep. I was in tears watching him try to reconnect with Britta and form a relationship with his son. He was so vulnerable and open. Knowing all that he was willing to do for Britta and Jamie made the torture that she put him through to gain her trust and love infuriating. Granted he deserved to grovel for the way he left her, but it almost felt cruel. I couldn't help but wonder how long she was going to force him to prove that he'd changed. However, I was glad that she didn't jump into bed with him allowing them to fall back into their sexual relationship before their issues were resolved. It was nice seeing them grow in love again through other means. The journey was long and arduous but well worth the emotional roller coaster to see Griff and Britta finally find their happily ever after. And the music added an element to the story that brought all the pain and longing to the forefront. I was glad to see Griff rebuild his bond with his brother, especially after all their parents had and continue to put them through. Now I'm going to have to find a way to suppress my anxiousness while waiting to read Harlow's story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.
