    So drawn out

I couldn't believe how much the author put into having characters speak mostly about subjects unrelated to the plot. By the end I still had no idea who the Three were. Extremely boring book

    Disappointed

I was just not satisfied wih this book at all. It had an interesting plot, but i found there were far too many characters and angles to keep track of and this ultimately contributed to not enjoying it. In addition, when I finished, I wondered what the point was. I just felt the story didnt really go anywhere and just ended with no feeling of closure or resolve.

    Thrill from beginning to end

The Three is that kind of book that you absolutely cannot put down. I would squeeze in a few pages just after I parked my car or waited in line, and then stay up an hour later than I intended to reading just one more chapter. The news reporting-scrapbook style is one of my favourite types of narratives to read (if you haven't read World War Z and you like this style, go do it now). The suspense was handled very skillfully, as Lotz would hint at future events and later refer to them directly, but still have the reader clamouring to hear exactly how they came to pass. This was quite clever, especially considering the premise of the novel that the reader already knows the details of the event. The characters and points of view were well organized, despite the variety of characters I didn't have trouble keeping track of them all. I enjoyed being kept on my toes as to whether there truly was supernatural influences at work. The ending may not really ring true with all readers, myself included, but it was a thoughtful touch that had no effect on my overall enjoyment of the novel. I absolutely recommend The Three to everyone, it was an absolute thrill from start to finish. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book, Day Four.
