    Nice book

The disappearance of Lady Edith was my first historical romance read, so I was pretty excited to read it and I have to admit that my initial excitement was well paid off and this book didn’t disappoint me even a bit. Lady Edith is a headstrong woman, determined, sensible and brave. She has set out along with her friends to find out whether her childhood friend, Tilda’s newly wed husband was responsible for Tilda’s mysterious death on her wedding night. I loved Lady Edith’s character right from the beginning. Her character is really well built and absolutely likeable. Next coming to the man who stole Lady Edith’s heart. He is Lord Torrington alias Triston, Marquis’ son, tall, handsome and strong. He is good at heart and definitely loved Lady Edith a lot, and didn’t think twice about endangering himself to save Lady Edith. Lord Torrington is another very likeable character. The mystery of this book is the disappearance of Lady Edith and not the death of Tilda. Though it was not the mystery that I had expected when I read the blurb but still this mystery hooked me completely. The the last part of the novel totally kept me at the edge of my seat and I could not keep the book down The romance between Torrington and Edith was sweet but the mystery in this book became a highlight for me rather than the romance. Though the book has a HEA for the main couple but it doesn’t reveal the person who murdered Tilda, so that’s a cliffhanger. Now, I have to wait for the next installments of The Undaunted Debutantes Series to know more about Tilda’s death. But in spite of the cliffhanger I found The Disappearance of Lady Edith to be quite a enjoyable read. If you are a fan of historical romance mixed with mystery then you would definitely like The Disappearance of Lady Edith.

    Loved the Friends Forever story!

While reading the story of Triston and Edith, I kept waiting for more development in the mystery of their friend's death. I also thought Edith was written more forward than that time and her never being questioned by her parents and just going off on her own all the time was unbelievable, then again, that's why I read fiction! I loved the story idea and how the "villain" was handled. Can't wait for Luci and Ophelia's stories and to see if they ever solve Tilda's death. I was given an ARC for an honest review.

    historical romance

Potential is there but there were so many things that didn’t ring true. I can’t imagine a young “lady” in early 1800’s London being allowed to run free without a chaperone whether on a horse or without one. Being up in a tree spying? Leaving public gardens to follow a man…and into a questionable neighborhood? Three friends searching for the killer of their friend might be possible just as they might desire to prevent other young women from making horrendous marital mistakes BUT in that day and age and economic strata women were bargained off on the marital market with little say in the matter and the freedoms and access to newspapers the three had seems a bit fantastical. The hero might be a hunk but he did not seem to have many if any redeeming qualities and the relationship between him and Edith seemed…unlikely. If you are looking for a fantasy rather than a historical novel this series might be for you. I cannot recommend it as “historically accurate” though. Would I read more of the series? Perhaps – to find out who killed Tilda and to find out what else the author might decide to have the young women get up to. Thank you to NetGalley and Barclay Publicity for the ARC – This is my honest review. 2-3 Stars

    Delightful!

First off, the cover is beautiful and invites the reader to open the book. Secondly, the prologue drew me right in. What really happened to Tilda? Why wasn't her new husband more distressed at seeing the state of his new bride? What are Edith, Luci and Ophelia going to do? Fast forward nearly a year and Triston and Edith have their first meeting. Sparks flew from that moment. I enjoyed each of their meetings, their escapades and their good hearts. There were some interesting twists and turns in the story that kept me reading until the end. There are many more stories to be written about the wonderful characters introduced in this book. Also, the mystery from the prologue has still not been resolved. I look forward to reading those books as it will be fun to see what Luci and Ophelia are up to next. I always enjoy Ms. McKnight's book and this one was as good as all of her others. I encourage you to read and enjoy it.
