    Fun read

The Irredeemable Billionaire is a fun second chance story. Sebastian Hart, big time Hollywood director finds himself in a bit of trouble and he's been sentenced to community service. Working with a 10 year old boy through Big Brothers seems like an easy enough task. When that boy turns out to be the son of his childhood neighbor Grace. The one person he's never be able to win over with his charm and she doesn't seem to have soften any. Will Grace accept him or will she make his life even more miserable?? Fun, sexy read that was completely enjoyable. I definitely recommend it.

    H.E.A.

The Irredeemable Billionaire by Lexxie Couper is an original contemporary romance. Grace Wilder is a widow working hard as a paramedic to raise her son Cody. She is shocked when her childhood neighbour appears at her front door to work with Cody as his Big Brother. Sebastian Hart is shocked as well. The two have a childhood past and not always positive. Sebastian is determined to complete his mandatory community service. The tension between Grace and Sebastian is undeniable but there certainly is a spark. This perfectly paired couple must overcome brilliantly written obstacles. Lexxie Couper gives the reader strong characters with distinct voices and personalities. She exposes their undeniable chemistry along with an unstoppable emotional connection. This character-driven novel reveals Grace’s trying past and their patience is tested along the way. This page-turner does not disappoint. A perfect read for the beach, daily commute or a lazy afternoon.

A sexy and entertaining enemies to lovers romance!

In this entertaining enemies to lovers/second chance romance, Sebastian Hart, a cocky playboy movie director finds himself facing the woman he'd always scorned as a teenager for reasons he never examined closely. In an admittedly stupid move, he'd damaged store property on a whim and faced with community service or a short jail time, he chose the former, registering with a Big Brother organization. He's been matched with Cody Wilder, an aspiring filmmaker, who just so happens to be the son of the woman from high school, Grace, who'd always given him as much grief as he'd given her. Grace is widowed now, her firefighter husband having died a few years earlier. She's really not in the mood to deal with the adolescent games that Seb used to play with her. But Seb surprises her at every turn, and the attraction she feels towards him is mutual. This time around, will they end up as friends, or even more? This is a really fun read! I loved how Sebastian changes for the better over the course of the story, a result of his interactions with Grace and Cody. Seeing how hard Grace works to make a life for and her son makes him realize how spoiled he's been, using his fame and money to get what he wants and never worrying about the consequences. He finds that he wants Grace's approval now, something he'd likely wanted in high school too, but never admitted because he would not have wanted to be rejected by her - it was easier to do the rejecting first. One aspect of the story that I really appreciated was that the author didn't have Grace compare her deceased husband to Seb. Often I find that in creating the new relationship, there is tendency to try to make the reader like the new partner more by having negative things to say about the previous spouse. In this story Grace loved and grieved her husband, and has no qualms about telling Seb this. Her interactions with Seb, her decision to rekindle her sex life with him (she's had no one in her life since her husband died) and the way their relationship becomes serious all happen naturally. Seb turns out to have a sweet side (along with a sexy one!) and makes the right decisions to give Grace and Cody and himself the happy ending they deserve. 4 stars for an entertaining and sexy romance!

    Quick Read - Satisfying Story

Full review appeared on Reader's Edyn on 11/17/17 ... Sebastian Hart can’t believe his eyes. Ford is standing in front of him and she’s not that dorky young teen anymore. He used to tease her mercilessly and she used to retaliate with a kick to the shins after delivering a scathing retort. He’s missed the saucy little brat more than he realized, but she isn’t the same. She looks exhausted, haunted, almost beaten … and it’s tearing him up. Suddenly his court order to be a big brother becomes something altogether different. But Ford won’t be easy to bring around. She knows the old him and proving to her that he’s changed is going to be the hardest thing he’s ever done. And maybe, just maybe, all that teasing and ill-treatment in the past was him trying to hide from something he should have known all along; someone who was in front of him the whole time. He’s just got to keep from screwing things up. Easy, right? I really enjoyed this book. This story takes place in Australia and so there is a lot of Australian swang used. I laughed at a lot of it because it reminded me of my friends in Roxburgh Park. It was a nice touch for me. I also liked that Sebastian wasn’t the typical billionaire movie star. He is a director and so he is in the spotlight, but not quite as much. He has a bit more wiggle room from the paparazzi, but not much. Sebastian is interesting to follow because he believes he is a different person, but eventually sees that he hasn’t changed all that much. His epiphany is a catalyst in which he has to decide whether to give it his all, or throw the towel in and return to his selfish lifestyle. Grace is completely torn because she sees the person Hart was and the person he can be, but she struggles with what is best for her son, and her own personal desires she wants to succumb to. Ultimately, Sebastian missed Grace’s brutal honesty – something he doesn’t get with people always rushing to do his bidding. The question ends up being whether Sebastian wants to change, or if he just wants her to challenge him while he continues with his egotistical behaviors. He’s somewhat of a conundrum because he’s definitely a self-centered person, but he also behaves completely opposite when doing the nicest things for both Grace and Cody. The character list within this book was short. Grace’s best friend, co-worker, Sebastian’s brother, and the jerk-face paparazzo was pretty much it for supporting characters with a purpose. I appreciated that both Shelly and Harrison knew the end game all along despite both Grace and Sebastian fully denying things for a long time. There were other characters involved, but they didn’t live up to their possible full potential. I was a little irritated with the introduction of Grace’s mother-in-law because she really didn’t serve much of a purpose at all. Ultimately nothing was ever resolved with her, so I question her appearance other than to add a little drama and Grace making a decision for her life, which could have been handled any number of other way. Also, we got a small glimpse into Cody’s school project, but never much else. I had been hoping we’d see more of that – or Cody and Sebastian presenting it with Grace unsuspecting – something like that. Oh! I almost forgot about plain-faced Justin! Haha! I had a bit of an issue with his character as well because again, no resolve. I kept getting the feeling there was more to him, like he was going to end up being evil and Seb would have to swoop in and save the day or something, but he just sort of dropped out. So I guess, in reflection, this book did have a few technicalities that could have been better addressed. Besides those, it is still a pretty good read with well-developed main characters. I read it quickly and was satisfied with the story from the romance aspect. And despite the deficiencies with a couple of the secondary characters, I still very much liked Hart and Ford and was pleased to spend time with them. I plan to visit Ms. Couper’s books again in the future. Kindle version provided by Entangled/Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

    fun read

This is an enjoyable novel that gives Grace a chance to face the man who was the boy that made her childhood hell. Sebastian is all grown up and stunned when Grace answers the door when he shows up for his court ordered community service as a Big Brother. He'd always liked Grace, but dealt with it by name calling and other nasty behaviors. Grace still has some animosity towards him and doesn't know how to make this work. We've all dreamed about facing the bully that made school difficult, but how many of us get a chance to actually do it? In Grace's case, the bully has become a talented and wealthy film producer, while Grace has become an overworked widow struggling to make ends meet and to care for her son. The combination of the above made for a fun premise and very entertaining reading. Fans of the genre will enjoy this book and want to put it at the top of their TBR list.
