    A fun holiday read

Have a Deadly New Year is #3.5 in the Farm to Fork series by Lynn Cahoon. It is a novella set around the New Year holiday. Angie Turner and her crew from The County Seat restaurant are hired to cater a dinner for a rock band and then they plan to spend the week planning for the next business year. Things go awry when one of the band members is found in the dining room with a drumstick through his chest. The writing was solid, it is the first book of this series that I have read, but I was not lost with the characters and their relationships. It is a fun fill in for those waiting for the next to be published or for those that just want a holiday themed book. Thank you #NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read #HaveaDeadlyNewYear.

    I liked it

I have not read the previous books, but this was a nice quick taste of the series. A solid cozy with an interesting whodunit. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

    A Great Little Mystery!

This was a great little whodunnit. It had great characters, a full plot, and the suspense needed to satisfy the mystery lover in me. I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Cozy mystery combined with a travel memoir!

No one would wish their worst enemy to Have a Deadly New Year. However, for the employees of the Country Seat restaurant and the reunited members of a 1990s band, it looks to be a dangerous holiday season! Angie and Felicia own a small farm-to-fork restaurant. Felicia has a college connection to the recently reunited band Postal Mutiny. When she works out a deal to cater one meal for the band at the remote ski vacation house of the lead singer in return for a week of free lodging, it sounds like a win-win. However, the band’s constant fighting results in one member being “drumsticked” in the chest. When the sheriff is called away to search for a missing child, Angie steps in to solve the crime. Angie, Felicia, and the other restaurant folks in Have a Deadly New Year feel like long-lost friends already. This is the first book in this series that I’ve read but it won’t be my last. The characters act realistically and feel genuine. The mystery was good too. 4 stars for this engaging book. One more thing. Just a call out to the dedication to band members everywhere—you were the first friends I had who practiced mindfulness before it was even named that. Thank you for all the great life lessons. Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

    New Year Novella

The County Line crew is catering a private party for a Rock Band. While Felicia grew up with the rocker who owns the house, Angie can’t bring herself to trust him or anyone in the party when another member of the band is murdered. A short novella to tide me over until the next entry in the series. Always welcome when you’re stalking the author’s page to see when the next full length book is going to be released. Love all of Lynn Cahoon’s series, she is a talented writer.
