I was very dissapointed with this book. There was so much hype about it, and seemed like it was for such an important issue. Expecting it to be written from the view point of the a young girl, however it seemed like someone with their own agenda has written it with her as the cover. I have read other books about how the Taliban and Muslim way of life have affected women and girls, that were much better. For example The Book of Fate, makes you really feel like you know the characters and want to change the way women are treated.

I really liked this book, from the way it was written, to the history that was provided and the overall story of a young girl literally fighting for something that we take for granted. Some may not appreciate the in-depth history surrounding the Taliban however I felt it allowed me to fully understand what was happening around her and the struggles she and her family faced on a daily basis. I think it was important to share those intimate stories (although at times I didn't understand who was who at certain points). Malala's father inspired me the most because I believe he was the true hero in this storyline, because if it wasn't for him, change in Pakistan would not have happened. His courage, strength, un-wavering support and love allowed his daughter to feel safe in a very "unsafe" world to speak out on what was each person's right - education.

This book was a huge eye opener to the struggles of life for women in a world stuck in time. My world was oblivious to the real sacrifices these women are forced to take, just to stay alive and it made me appreciate my own exsistance. It was a saddly compelling story driven by an undeniably brave girl, old beyond her years.

This young girl is old beyond her years. She has been the strongest young girl I think I have heard or read about. If you have never heard of this girl her book is a real must to read, but be prepared to not put it down. Once you turn the first page you are going to have to finish the book at that sitting. A must must read for all ages.

This book was a fantastic read that I couldn't put down. I feel so much more educated about Pakistan, it's history, and it's current political climate. Malala is such an inspiration, not just to girls, but to everyone. Highly recommended!
