    Hilarious insanity!

I should have read the first book before, as it was a tad confusing at the beginning. There are many characters, there’s a lot going on, but I’m to blame and not the author. I love Shelly Laurenston! I was pretty impressed with her knowledge of Norse mythology; it’s nice to see things accurately presented. What a crazy, insane story; Jace is like no character I’ve ever read before! THE UNDOING is totally over the top, absolutely hilarious, and action-packed from beginning to end; it’s Shelly Laurenston at her hilarious best! I received a complimentary of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    Woohoo

I love this series and I just love Jace to bits. She's an antisocial introverted that you just can't help loving her. Jace is one of Skulds Crows. Her death, rebirth and Skuld gave her the power of beserker rage. Danski "Ski" Erikson is one of Tyrs Protectors. From a long line of Vikings/Protectors he overlook the other Protectors of his house. The Protectors doesn't especially like the Crows. When Jace and Ski are forced to work together to help vanquish the Goddess Gullveig, sparks of passion erupts between them. Passion, humor and bloody battle will keep you on your toes. I absolutely love this series. I highly recommend this book and the other series by this author.

    The Undoing

Protector Ski Ericksen is a peace loving kind of guy who is desperately trying to get close to Jace and the readers can’t help but become ensnared in the excitement as Jace learns that nothing gets in the way of a true Viking! There is so much chemistry between Ski and Jace that they make a perfect couple but due to the past and the circumstances, this relationship is on a risky fault line which has some humorous encounters mixed into this unorthodox wooing. Shelly Laurenston has once again given life to strong, compelling and fascinating characters with some odds quirks that readers can’t help but fall for in this fast paced, smooth flowing plot full of suspense, excitement and romance. The story starts off with a momentous event in the prologue that grabs reader’s attention right from the start and from there readers have a straight shot into an exhilarating ride as an ancient goddess sets chaos in motion and forces (horror of horrors) Clans to work together which has lots of chuckles flowing right along with all the adrenaline pumping excitement that never ends. Vivid details make it easy for the readers to picture each and every well written scene which brings the story as well as the characters to vibrant life. Okay, I was completely overtaken with awe at the speed with which this spellbinding story progressed because there was no way for me to put it down and I didn’t want it to end, not only was it non-stop excitement, but the characters had me ROTFL at a couple of points and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

    My new favorite series

I am a huge Shelly Laurenston fan. I admit it straight up. Her books are one of the few that have made it to my "keeper" shelf. I get her books in multiple formats even. Why? Because 1) I want them for my keeper shelf and 2) I also want to read them as soon as they come out... if not sooner. And I have read them all multiple times. (Well, I still haven't finished Hunting Season, but everyone is allowed to have that one that just doesn't do if for them, right?) I spent quite a bit of time during this book geeking out about the cross over with her other series. That's right - Shifters. Can you believe it?! Grizzlies and African Wild Dogs specifically (two of my personal favs). But there was also a nod to her Dragon Kin series under her pseudonym G.A. Aiken, specifically to Dagmar "The Beast" Reinholdt from book 3. I can't remember grinning so hard seeing all my favorites coming into place in one universe. Woo Hoo! The story picks up not long after The Unleashing. This time, the focus is on quiet Jace and one of the Protectors (Owl), Denski. These guys are totally bad ass, yet all about the books. (Think the library in Beauty and the Beast... you know the one.) They don't fight with weapons, not because they can't, but because their hands and feet do enough damage to not warrant using weapons. Plus, they wear glasses when they aren't fighting, to help them adapt so that others don't notice their unique owl eyes. (Can I add one of these guys to my Christmas wish list? Seriously. I promise to be extra good the rest of the year...) This book is full of the trademark Shelly Laurenston snark, wit and over the top personalities that we have come to know and love. There was plenty of action, both with bad guys and the typical family in-fighting. There were huge pranks and petty squabbles. But most of all, it was fun. I had a fabulous time getting into Jace and Ski's heads and can't wait to see what's up next for my new favorite series. This was another fantastic 5 star read. Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read and review the book.

    Audio Book Review

Narrator for Audio Book - 4 Stars Total -- 3 Stars Berzerker Crow. “Would it kill you to make small talk?” “Yes, yes it would.” You have to love a novel where the villain tries to insult a Viking by calling him a book reader.
