    Had me Howling

Had me howling. Absolutely loved it. I could picture Emily like I was watching it on the large screen.

The Devil Wears Prada 3 (kind of...)

I found this next instalment of The Devil Wears Prada refreshing! It still is very much in the same vein as the previous novels and Lauren Weisberger is consistent in her narrative (mostly) but I found it refreshing that Emily was the focus of the novel and not Andy. I LOVE the original Devil Wears Prada. The second book had me getting a little tired of Andy, so I was excited that we saw Emily in a more detailed light. The new setting for Lululemons and focus on Emily was an interesting deviation from the traditional hectic New York setting from the previous books. The dark underbelly (shall we say) of the suburb set in the NE states was a fun new situation to find Emily in and I found myself rooting for her more and more as the book went on. I enjoyed the other two leading ladies as well. The only complaint I had for inconsistencies between this and the last book in the series was how Miranda fawned over Andy's pregnancy and child in the second book, whereas Miranda was back to her cool dismissal of children and another's pregnancy in this latest book. For chick lit, it was still a little formulaic and predictable but if I do read chick lit (which is not often and only a specific handful of authors) I can always count on Lauren Weisberger to deliver! (Though I do only read her "Prada" books). Overall- a fantastic summer read or at least something fun, easy and lighthearted to throw into your reading mix!

    Entertaining

Entertaining read. Author writes very well painting clear pictures of the characters and even the smallest details to help take you into the story. Easy, enjoyable summer read.

Crazy Rich Thirty Something White Women

Just saw the wonderful Crazy Rich Asians movie last week. This book should be called Crazy Rich Thirty Something White Women. I very much enjoyed this book and had many laugh out loud moments. Gets into the psychy of thirty somethings (or those who have been there) nicely. Sugary ending, but good read.
