    Highly recommended

After Claire Walsh is jilted at the alter, via text message to the wedding planner, she decides to take her Christmastime honeymoon alone. My first thought as I started reading Heart of Stone was Claire got away lucky since she was totally engaged to a total tool. My second thought was she is a super strong woman to make the choice to go on her honeymoon alone. I will say I cracked up so hard when she stepped off the plane completely toasted after her flight to California. Claire was so freaking funny as she first met Mac Stone. Mac and Claire had a pretty instant attraction, even as Mac was trying to keep a drunk Claire under control initially. I felt like the connected in a way neither was expecting or looking for at the time. Claire being on the rebound, and Mac still not over the death of his wife 5 years ago, made for an interesting set up to a new romance. Mac's past absolutely brought me to tears, even as I wanted his to realize it was time to move forward. I loved the chemistry and how they just really seemed to get one another. I also absolutely loved that Mac's Aunt Myrna could tell there was something between them and tried to give them the space to figure it all out. Heart of Stone is a sweet, fast-paced romance that pulled me in from the very first page. I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a contemporary holiday romance. Unexpected Love

I really enjoyed Heart of Stone by Marilyn Baxter. This story doesn’t quite fit into a single type of format. We have two people who are hurting from love. Claire Walsh was jilter at the altar, actually fifty feet from the altar, through a text left for the wedding planner and a #donthateme. She decides to go ahead and go on the honeymoon, alone, to get away from the questions and pity. Mac Stone has been grieving for the past five years after his wife was murdered on New Year’s Eve. Instead of the big shot New York lawyer he was once, he now helps his great-aunt run her bed and breakfast. He believes he will never fall in love again. One look at Claire and Mac knows he’s in trouble. He wonders why someone would reject and jilt this beautiful woman. Claire has a similar attraction to the hunky Mac. This story allows these two strangers to heal and find a new chance at love. This was a fun, wonderful and entertaining story with very loveable and authentic characters you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I definitely recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
