...the Whiskeys are my favorite characters.

"Don't go after your sweetheart with your brawn, baby. Go after her with your heart. That's the biggest and best thing that sets you apart from every other tough guy out there." (Excerpt- Driving Whiskey Wild by Melissa Foster - Red & Bullet, a mother's heartfelt words to her son) Not often do I stumble across the perfect words to describe my feelings, but Ms. Foster made it easy. With a limited amount of words, she summed up the enigma that is Brandon "Bullet" Whiskey. Bullet looked like a warrior, but he had the heart of a champion. I've read many Melissa Foster novels and although I have loved all of them, the Whiskeys are my favorite characters of hers. Why? This family proves that a good heart shouldn't be judged by how you look, but the things you do. The Whiskeys may look tough and at times act tough, but their greatest strength is their ability to love unconditionally. Bullet has to learn to trust his heart when he finds his soulmate. Finlay is his greatest weakness, but she could be his everlasting reward. Not many authors have a direct line to the heart, Melissa Foster has that gift and she does wonders with it.

    hot, dirty, and funny

This is a good book. I found it to be hot, dirty, and funny! Yes funny. The banter between these characters is entertaining and some parts I found humorous. I am thinking I need to go read the previous books! I am told they can be read as standalones, but I would love to get more from Whiskey Bro's. I loved that these characters are so different but are basically what each other needs and wants. Their chemistry is off the charts! This story is full of love, hurt, and second chances. I enjoy getting the story in both characters POV. You get a little bit from both and it just weaves the story for you. In the end do these character find happiness they so deserve? Read and find out but you won't be dissapointed with this story. "You'll always be my sugar rush, but you're so much more. You calm my ghosts enough for me to fall asleep and stay asleep, which I can't remember ever doing"

An immense story of healing through love

There is just something about The Whiskeys and those around them, the pure love they have for each other, the bond and loyalty between them, the selfless actions they are willing to take for one another when needed makes for such a great read. You can feel the closeness, the secure calming feeling of knowing you are a part of their group. This and the fact that Melissa Foster makes it impossible not to fall in love with Bullet and Finlay will have you thoroughly enjoying the whole story. Within a few pages I was already smiling at humour between Bullet and Finlay, not willing to let each other get the better of each other, like dogs with a toy, their banter is hilarious. It's definitely a case of opposites attract and the want between them is obviously undeniable, their strong connection poured from the pages. It was also impossible not feel the protective force for Finlay from Bullet from those first chapters. As the story unfolds they end up being a source of strength for each other, both opening up and helping each other from their hurtful past, easing one anothers pain, growing stronger because of the love they share. Reading how this conflicted hunk of a man freely feeling emotions and love for the first time is years is quite emotional. But will their love for each other be enough to win the battle of emotions they face? I ended up doing my usual trick when I'm absolutely loving a book of thinking up excuses to keep myself busy so I could hold back from reading the last few chapters so it didn't have to come to an end, I could have happily carried on reading about Bullet, Finlay and the Whiskey family and friends. I'm so looking forward to reading Dixie's story, just imagine how many hoops those Whiskey brothers will have him skipping through just to pass the their test for approval! They say never judge a book by it's cover, well that's totally not the case for The Whiskeys, just look at that strong muscular body of the deep dark lovable hunk of a man, Bullet, he not only has you drooling at the cover but will have your heart skipping a beat in the story too. An immense story of healing through love and of the magic that love can bring between two people.

    Love those Whiskeys

The Whiskey parents raised quite the blunt, caring, and upstanding brood.  Just like Bear, Bullet is quite the responsible human being ... and, like Bear, he's taken on a little too much.  Not only is he running the family bar, but he's doing just about every heroic thing under the sun (while fighting the hero title with everything in him).  Along with rest of the Dark Knights, he protects the town from any rough elements, does charity work when it is needed, and steps in whenever there's trouble.  It's been fine when all he had in his life was his family and the town.  But now a fiesty wonan has caught his eye and his life might just be headed for a change.   Finlay resists her attraction to Bullet a bit at first - they don't seem like they'd have much in common and his pickup lines could REALLY use some work.  But after they spend some time together, she realizes that there is more to him than she thought and their attraction may not be something to ignore.  It's pretty hard to ignore a built, stubborn, cocky (but uniquely charming) protector that shows his heart is just as big as his ... shoes.   There's really not a lot of drama here.  Both Bullet and Finaly have a little contemplation they need to do at first as they decide whether getting involved is the right thing to do.  Plus, Bullet has some residual PTSD that he needs to address, but overall Driving Whiskey Wild is one of those slow-burn romances.  We're there with them as they make their way from dancing around each other to a HEA ending.  It's sweet, sexy, and satisfying to read.   *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

    Driving Whiskey Wild

I love love loved this book! Melissa foster takes us back to the Whiskey family and this time the book looks at Special Forces veteran and Dark Knights MC member Bullet Whiskey and Finlay Wilson who is helping the Whiskey clan with their expansion of their bar. Sparks fly straight away for Bullet and Finlay but Bullet thinks that Finlay is too sweet for him and the life he leads. Add in Bullet’s PTSD which makes his life a little bit more complicated and you’ve got a romance which is white hot but with complications. Bullet is a hot, alpha guy who just wants to look after his family, sometimes to the detriment of his own mental and emotional health. He’s attracted to Finlay but wants to wrap her up in cotton wool and at the beginning of the novel doesn’t see her as the strong woman that she is. Finlay was an amazing character, she is strong, sweet and witty and won’t put up with Bullet’s thinking that she doesn’t know who she is as a woman. There is a lot of chemistry between the two characters and they definitely seem to balance each other out and help each other through their past and present traumas. I particularly like Bullet’s relationship with his dog Tinkerbell and it will be interesting to see what happens with Bones in the next installment of this series. This installment deals with triggers of PTSD and past traumas and is dealt with in a sensitive manner. Again, another great read by Melissa Foster and it was great catching up with all of the Whiskey Clan. I can’t wait until the next book comes out!
