    Great boxset

Concrete Evidence - This is how you write a debut book. The authors’ knowledge of archaeology, historic art and Native American sites was evident through the book. The story which starts off in 1952 is like one large jigsaw puzzle that takes the course of the book to piece together before finally seeing the whole picture. Erica Kesling didn’t have an easy childhood after her father died. Her credit ruined and blackballed from being able to use her degree in underwater archaeologist she now works for a large company on a different coast as a land archeologist looking for a way to make those pay who had a part in setting her up. From here the author takes us on a journey that arouses your curiosity as to what is really going on. Its full of crafty plotting and intrigues throughout. Body of Evidence Gripping from beginning to end. This fast paced action thriller snags you from the first chapter and doesn’t let go until the very last page. I don’t consider this a spoiler as its in the blurb but with an opening of the heroine, Mara Garrett, being on trial in North Korea for spying then being sentence to death by firing squad all in the first chapter you know you’re in for a wild ride. Let me tell you the action doesn’t stop there. It only gets bigger. The heroine’s job was one I had not heard before. She goes into foreign countries to retrieve the bodies of service men lost in combat. This could range from WWII to current day. You could tell the author did her homework on Joint POW/MIA archaeologists and portrayed the work that the JPAC does with pride. JPAC’s latest retrieval has her team going to North Korea, a place we are not on friendly terms with and many protocols have to be met. When a team member betrays her, this gets her arrested and sentenced to death. Her savior comes in an unlikely ally. The man currently trying to put her uncle – the ex vice president – away for treason and making deals with terrorist, US attorney Curt Dominick. But if you think that that’s where the action ends think again. Curt and Mara’s wild adventure takes them from Hawaii to Washington, DC and many states in between with one harrowing thing happening to them after another. Just when you think it safe to breathe another thing happens that puts them in danger. There is so much going on in this book but yet your never lost – you just keep turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next. This is hands down the best book I’ve read this year. I cannot wait to see what is next from this up and coming author that can write suspense like nobody’s business. Withholding Evidence Every book in this series amazes me with not only introducing real life aspects of archaeologists of all forms but also in giving us glimpses into the jobs we don’t always hear about our men and women doing in war torn countries. Have you heard the term Bait and Switch? Well the author got me good. If you’ve read the other books in the series especially the 2nd book you she likes to start off with a thrilling ride and never let up until the last page. Well she had me fooled the first couple of chapters in this one. Trina Sorensen is a military historian with NHHC (Navel History and Heritage Command). She’s fought hard to get to where she is in what was considered a man’s only world in the past. Her latest assignment is to gather and write from a historians view point about what happened in Somalia five years ago with a Seal team. Not used to working on something where the people are still living she not quite ready for the reception she gets from one of the men she needs to interview. Keith Hatcher cannot believe when a woman shows up on his doorstep looking like the sexiest librarian he’s ever seen (which it seems he has a secret fetish for) and the sexual banter between these two was funny and hot until she tells him why she is there he waste no time in telling her she is wasting her time and he will never talk about that mission in Somalia. Where the bait and switch comes in is the first couple of chapters are the back and forth between Keith and Trina when Keith decides he’d like to pursue the sexual chemistry between them. They meet again at a political party but things don’t go any better that night. Every character we’ve met in the previous books is back in this one. Mara is Trina’s boss and Erica is her co-worker. It was great getting to see them again with their men. So yeah you’re comfortable now in just thinking this is just a romance with no action or suspense and then BAM the author throws you for a loop and the next thing you know these two are running for their lives and trying to figure out what’s going on. Is the treat against Keith for what he knows about Somalia or has Trina somehow uncovered something in her research? This was another wild ride in a series I’ve come to love and look forward to the next adventure.

    Loved these books!

I loved all three of these books! Rachel Grant's professional background as an archeologist makes for such authentic detail. Smart, dedicated heroines. Sexy, intelligent, patriotic heroes. Red-hot love affairs and intricate, interesting plots. What more can you ask for?

Evidence Series Box Set Books 1 - 3

Absoulutely loved books 1 &2. Book 3 was a little too sexually graphic for me. The stories were all very thrilling and full of adventure.

    A great deal

CONCRETE EVIDENCE has interesting archaeological knowledge and intriguing suspense plot. I do find some parts a bit slow for my taste; the angst seems dragged out a little bit too much, but that doesn't mean the book isn't impressive. It introduces me to a great writer, and I've since become a huge fan. BODY OF EVIDENCE has been one of my favorite books of all time so far. The pacing is a major improvement from book #1, and I felt like I was watching an action flick as I read the book. The book has less to do with archaeology, but it has the perfect mix of suspense, actions, and romance. I can't recommend it enough. WITHHOLDING EVIDENCE is shorter in length than the previous two books, but it's fully packed with actions and romance nonetheless. It's another great read.
