Awesome and amazing must read love story!

I thoroughly loved reading the amazing and intriguing romance story first one in the Obsidian series by the fabulously talented Victoria Quinn. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader's copy. From the unexpected meeting of Rome and Calloway to the four weeks of getting to know each other, they find themselves in a unique relationship, one in which Calloway, a dominant, has never been in. Calloway plans to introduce Rome to her role as a submissive and hopes she will commit to this kind of intimacy. Read the highly recommended, beautifully written with an engaging story line and captivating characters, and a must read love story.

    Excellent story but a cliffhanger

I received a copy from the author (well actually from a friend of the author - Penelope Sky - the author of Buttons and Pain) and I voluntarily reviewed this book. This book was so engrossing that I stayed up late to finish it. The author does a great job of bringing all of the characters to life ( I really love Christopher). We are given tantalizing tidbits about our characters, throughout the story, that really makes them human. The developing relationship between our two main characters is not an easy road but with the good and bad advice offered by friends and family our characters seem to find a way to make things work. My only problem with the book is that I did not look at the cover carefully before I signed up to ARC this book. It ends in a cliffhanger (I am an impatient person and I hate to wait for a book's conclusion). Now I will sit back and impatiently wait for Black Diamond.

    Totally worth the sleep loss!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I stayed up all night to finish it and I must say it was definitely worth the sleep loss! I'm so happy to know about this new author. I will not leave any spoilers here so I'll just say I love the strong female character and the chemistry between her and Calloway. I will impatiently wait for the next book in the series to know what the author has in store for them. Trust me, this book is a must read

I am hooked on Black Obsidian!

When I read the short teaser for this story, I knew in the back of my mind that I would love it. I waited anxiously for the release date to see if the story would be anything like I expected. It was so much more. And It was well worth the wait. Calloway Owens, a Dominant, is slapped by Rome Moretti in a bar when she mistakes him for another man. Calloway becomes obsessed with her beauty, strength, and ferociousness. The two eventually meet again and it’s the start of a special relationship; but not before Calloway ends things with his current submissive who just can’t seem to let go… Calloway has one goal in mind, to make Rome his submissive. Rome wants to take things slow and see where the relationship goes. They both have dark and troubled pasts that continue to haunt them, and they eventually open up to each other in more ways than one. The affection and passion that they have for each other continues to blossom between them while Calloway struggles to hide his dark side from Rome, and Rome struggles to accept his need to care for, protect, and dominate her. Even when he slips up and shows his true self, she sticks around, and she particularly likes it in the bedroom. There are some arguments and doubts about whether to walk away or stay, but their bond grows stronger and gets deeper than either one of them expected. I got lost in this story, and I was grateful that it was so long because I never wanted it to end. I instantly fell in love with the characters, and I could picture exactly what was going on in my mind, like a movie, because the story is written so well. The ending left me aching to know what happens next, and I almost started to cry at the thought of having to wait a while for the next book. But I know it will be well worth the wait.

    Brilliant!

Wow! What an intro to what is going to be an amazing journey for a series. Calloway is not the average, everyday man. He has some dark issues that keep him a tight circle of little to no one. Can you really reprogram yourself to be different for the sake of someone else? Rome has had a rough past but she has made way for herself in the world and is determined not to let anyone silence her voice ever again. Chris seems to be their only supporter and everyone else is out to see them fall apart. Only time will tell, as with any relationship, if they can jump over all the obstacles bound to stand in their way.
