    He's smuggling more than Brandy.

With a 3-year deadline to marry (or forfeit her son’s inheritance) drawing near, widow Daisy Bristol flees to the Highlands to escape fortune hunters while waiting for her first love to finish his commission and reunite with her. Her new neighbor, Ceilean Mackenzie, Laird Arrandale offers her a respite from the fortune hunters, who hound her. He unlike the rest of the men sniffing at her skirts, he tells her the truth and isn’t interesting in her money. Ceilean thinks Daisy is a crazy London miss who flirts with all men. Though try as he might, he can’t keep her from getting under his skin. The sexual tension between these two is palpable. I enjoy books with witty banter between the characters. This one has it in abundance. I loved the second installment to The Highland Groom Series. It’s a legacy of love that started with Wild Wicked Scot. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

    Romance, friendship, passion and lust

I've received this book in exchange for an honest review In the second book of the Highland Grooms series, Julia London takes us back to Scotland. In the first book, the main characters were Margot Armstrong and Arran McKenzie. Now, this is the story of their son, Cailean Mackenzie, and an English lady, Lady Daisy Bristol. Daisy is a widower with a young son. When she discovers that he has a small property in Scotland, she decides to take him there, to be away from all her suitors, but also to try and improve the boy’s health. The attraction between Daisy and Cailean is almost instantaneous, but what I really liked was that although that attraction was there, it was more than that. Their relationship was a mix of friendship, love and support. Cailean is great with Daisy’s son, and he really likes him, independently of who his mother is. The possible relationship between Daisy and Cailean is threatened by the Scottish rising (the Jacobites) and the English, which makes it hard for them to be friends, even harder to be more than that. But both Cailean and Daisy are stubborn and know how to fight for what they want. How they manage it, you’ll have to read the book to find out. And believe me, you’re going to like it. Romance, friendship, some passion and lust – these are the perfect ingredients that make the book so easy and pleasant to read. I like Julia London’s books more and more every day.

    Couldn't set it down!

After reading the first book in the Highland Groom series, I couldn't wait to read this one. It didn't disappoint, in fact I loved it more than the first. Julia London delivered with this story! The chemistry between Daisy and Cailean was there from the start, I was rooting for them from their first encounter.
