A story that will leave you in tears

I have loved all of Ava's books and was really looking forward to Jake and Susannah's story. Personally I enjoyed that story and even though I'm not exactly very spiritual, I did like how Ava brought in God and how He creates miracles. However, I think I have to point out that for those of you who are not very into Christianity, you may feel that compared to the other books by Ava, The Promise of Rainbows is very preachy so you may want to be prepared for it. Jake is a very tortured hero who is still suffering from PTSD. The horrors of PTSD and issues that many veterans face are strongly portrayed in the story and even for a person as I who has not suffered from PTSD found tears running down my cheeks as I experienced that pain that Jake felt. I'm really glad Ava touched on this sensitive and sad but very serious issue. I also loved the way the McGuiness family come together, to support each other and just to be there for each other. I had loved John Parker in The Chocolate Garden and how he supports his sisters in The Promise of Rainbows makes me love him even more. Ava's books touches on real life issues but also makes you believe in magic again. I think everyone needs that little magic in their lives. ** I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.

    Couldn't put it down

Another good book couldn't put it down I read this book in one day and didn't want it to end. Ava miles not only gives you a love story but she also shows the tough issue of PTSD which is such a taboo subject for a lot of people, you will need to keep your tissues handy as this is such an emotional storyline. Jake and Susannah have appeared in previous dare valley storylines but in this one you finally get to learn their own unique story and there are lots of characters appearing from previous books. I have read all the books that Ava has written and enjoyed them all but this by far has got to be my favourite one. I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.
