儒家思想與道家思想的衝突與對話，是中國思想史上最有趣的課題之一。秦漢以降，兩派學者或固守壁壘，或力主融通。在論辯的過程中，歷代學者不斷在整理與回顧之中找尋新方向，逐漸形成兩派各不相同的譜系與理念。兩派學者批判對方、迴護自身的言論，往往隱伏自身論述的調整與新詮，並汲取對方的優點，以奪回哲理的解釋權。「衝突」與「對話」往往是並存的，從某一層次來講，它們是一體的兩面：衝突在對話中默默發生，對話也在衝突中不斷展開。這種互動的模式，恰可藉由比較儒家《易》詮釋和道家《易》詮釋來理解。《周易》強調最大衝突中的最大調和之理念，儒道思想的衝突與對話，正符合此一道理。《周易》的詮釋與儒道思想的互動，綿延中國三千年歷史文化，是中國思想史上至為複雜的大問題。本書由鄭吉雄教授、林永勝教授主編，選輯主題論文15篇，由易學專家鄭吉雄、林忠軍、淺野裕一、曾春海、黃明誠、金春峰、汪學群、張善文、孫劍秋、林永勝、黃忠天
