Luis Delgado was best friends and occasional stand-in for James Garner, beloved actor behind such classics as Maverick and The Rockford Files. When Garner was selected by John Frankenheimer as the actor to portray American Formula 1 racer Pete Aron in the 1966 MGM release Grand Prix, Luis accompanied Jim to Europe in June 1966 for principal photography at numerous actual Grand Prix races in Europe.
