Manga club president Okamura always insisted he had no interest in real live 3D girls. His heart belonged to his favorite 2D character, Liliel. But when Lilysa joined the club, things got complicated: her passion is cosplaying Liliel down to the sexiest detail! Now that she's convinced Okamura to be her photographer, they prepare for her debut at her first-ever convention!

Okamura and Lilysa take part in a cosplay convention in a bid for the manga club's survival. Their plans are derailed by the appearance at the con of one of the Four Heavenly Queens of cosplay, Nagomi--and their advisor, Mayuri, shows up as well... The upcoming culture festival gives Lilysa and Mikari an idea for a surprise club activity. Hint, hint: it involves cosplaying Liliel and Miriella as maids. In preparation for the next convention, Okumura arranges for secret photography training sessions. But the path of otakudom is not without hurdles, and the Manga Club might be about to face their biggest one yet!

Okumura is still obsessed with 2D character Liliel, but another convention brings him closer to real-life Lilysa, who is touched by his valiant efforts to support her dream. Thanks to him, she's able to hold her own against Nagomi, one of the Heavenly Queens of Cosplay. Back at school, Okumura submits an activity report that puts the survival of the manga club at stake. What is club advisor Mayuri to do now?

Lilysa and Nonoa want to be friends, but when they try to reach out, their emotions get lost in translation. Feeling crushed, Nonoa storms out of the event. Okumura follows and they have a conversation that allows Nonoa to take a new step forward. Meanwhile, Lilysa is struggling to focus on her photoshoot... Can these otaku work it all out?

The news of Lilysa's Paratroopers cosplay has reached Aria's father, the author of Liliel: Side Story, as Aria hoped. When Aria sees him at Summer Comiket, she puts into action a secret plan to express her feelings to him. Will it work? May the light in the hearts of these otakus show them the way in volume 8!
