Once again Lani has another hit on her hands and a new series that I'm going to devour every time a new book drops. As a reader of almost all of Lani's books I was so happy to see Aaron story finally get told. After recovering from a accident caused by his devilish ex-wife and not being able to rejoin his firefighters squad he packs up and head home to his mother and a town to get lost in. While there he joins the Dixie Warden Rejects MC a brotherhood that makes him slowly join the land of the living again. Enter Imogen who he first meets at work but soon realizes that she his next door neighbor. The chemistry is palpable as soon as they meet but Aaron has sworn off women so no can do as they say. Too bad Imogen has a sassy streak a mile long and will go after what she wants regardless of how he might feel. This book was fantastic and I'm definitely intrigued with the secondary characters as well as the main ones. This book will light a fire in you that can only be extinguished with the next book in what will be a great series.

  • Intense

Is there a better way to know an author than through her writing? Of course not and starting with an MC book was the cherry on top of the cake... Seriously  I haven't read any book from this author but I can assure you that I'll manage to read them all.  Lani Lynn Vale has an intense, raw and full on meaning writing that can make you read non stop.  Beard Mode is the first book from The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC and I can't wait for the next one.  This book tells the stories of Aaron and Imogen.  Aaron left his life behind and moved to his childhood town to a fresh start. He needed to leave behind his family and friend in hope to start over, forgeting his past and the things that keep hunting him. But things aren't easy as they seem because having your ex wife trying to burn you to dead can leave not only physical scares but mental ones to. Because of that he don't trust any woman or men. He just wants to give up sometimes but he needs to fight a d with the help of his MC brothers he will. When he sees the beautiful Imogen...  Imogen is a former Marine and because of that she's also a badass woman that don't take shi... from no-one. When her childish crush returns to her town she can't belive her luck but he's so dark and moody. It doesn't matter if she wants to avoid him because every turn she takes he's there...  And I'm hooked. Hooked for another MC series and I can't wait see the next book.  This story is intense, amazing and with so much sadness into it.  The plot is amazing and the interaction between the characters is beautiful, raw and moody.  The story progressed in a way that I wanted to keep reading and reading until it was over.  Can't wait for what's about to come.  I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

  • Fierce!

First book I've read by Lani and I loved it, I had many laugh out loud moments and a few moments where I felt connected to how the characters might be feeling. Imogen and Aaron are two very different people but together they complete each other. After what Aaron's ex did to him he convinced himself to never fall for another woman again. That all changed when he met Imogen, he referres to her as the pixie next door. A must read, I thought it was about an actual illegal motorcycle club, but this club is has police officers, doctors and so on.
