    Night, by Elie Wiesel

Coming of age in The Kingdom of Night, young Eliezer, experiences the kids of his mother and sister as Night fell upon their community. Through the long hours of darkness, hoping for the arrival of the rising sun, he loses almost everything else that had meaning - his dignity, his sense of self, and, shortly before the sunrise, his father. The lone survivor in his family, Elie Wiesel tells the horrific story if a young teenage Jewish boy and the evils of Nazi Germany's "Final Solution". But this story is not just his story, it is the story of every soul which has had to languish and suffer in the heat of hatred and persecution. The story is told for one reason - that experiencing it we might work so that the powers of Night be broken forever. Never again! Never again. Never again!

    Worthwhile

It's a good book, sad story, horrible history that can never be forgotten. Highly recommend.

    Everyone must read this book

The simplicity of these words, straight forward, almost mundane make the unthinkable real. This book should awaken our collective guilt for what we continue to allow happen.

For my bingo square - A book I Should Have Read in High School...Night by Elie Weisel. Unforgettable, first hand account of a teenage, Jewish boy's life in a concentration camp.
