The authors of Wicked Muncie tell the city's lurid history in the true stories of its most infamous criminals and the lawmen who brought them down.Muncie epitomizes the small-town America of squeaky-clean 1950s sitcoms, but its wholesome veneer conceals a violent past. Public scandals and personal tragedy dogged the long, notorious life of Dr. Jules LaDuron. Baseball ace Obie McCracken met a tragic and violent end after joining the police force. A mother's...

Thought Provoking Spiritual Adventure!Reviewed in Canada on September 15, 2021Really enjoyed Snowblind Friend! The title itself (A song by Steppenwolf Band) invokes feelings of alienation and isolation. Starting with the rejection of a misogynistic, and conservative society of the 1970's; the author heads out to find his truth. Hitting the road with Doug is a raw, and unique reading experience that defies description. Come along on this: the first leg of Do...

They could not listen they're not listening still, perhaps they never will…Don MacleanThere is treasure inside all of us, but we must be willing to dig for it. When that cache is located, if we share what is found with a loving, open heart, we will witness it increase in value. This value perpetuates itself as the message is accepted by others.Watching my truth spill out onto the white like so much blood, I am in rapture, consumed by what is being accepted. Acceptance gives...

This is more than a bunch of crazy stories, it’s a responsibility. How strong is denial? How much can a person justify? There is no limit to the number of lies one person will believe, even perpetuate to advance their program. The RecollectorI am the watcher, the memory, a wanderer and a collector. You can't discern me, but I leave my footprint. Very young children and animals can detect me sometimes – their parents or owners catch a glimpse as a result. This is not a role anybody wants, no; ego has no place here. It needs to be removed before one can resume the process; an arduous task.I'm just a warrior, I'm not even sure what that means, I know that love and k...

I wish I could say that, I had enough. That life had taught me a lesson, and it was time for me to move on and get my life in order. No, that lost soul that found himself half dead in the mud, had many more trials to endure; more challenges, with his own demise hanging in the balance. He was still oblivious to what was going on around him, most of all, he felt small, insignificant. He felt like he was a lower form of life, a slug, that's how he viewed himself. Perhaps if he had gone as low...

Explore the notorious and unusual side of Muncie's history.Muncie is the classic small American city. But for much of the past two centuries, the city fell victim to murder, corruption and the bizarre. Mayor Rollin Bunch went to prison for mail fraud, while his police commissioner faced a murder rap. Viola "Babe" Swartz ran a brothel out of a truck stop that was raided by police at least a dozen times but ran for sheriff in the 1974 primary election. June Holland, ...
