Described as one of the most powerful leaders in Cambodian politics, he ousted French colonialism then overthrew the Khmer Rouge regime. He shaped the political and economic landscape in Cambodia using his strategies and persevered with liberating the nation despite encountering multiple assassination attempts. Sir Say Phouthong played a huge role in re-organising Cambodian People's Party through the nation.
