「台灣文學」成為一個公共話語，以及出現文學史著述，是在日治時期。但，在日人眼中，台灣的文學地位相較內地中央文壇，乃屬邊陲的「外地文學」，且注意的焦點還是日人在台文學。到了戰後政權改易，在中國文學史觀之下，曾被稱為「邊疆文學」、「地方文學」、「本省文學」，70年代開始在「鄉土文學」中突出台灣意識，到80年代始獲正名。90年代後期，更積極展開學科建制化、文學主體性的追求。迄今，又歷經東亞文學研究、比較研究、世界文學關係性和華語語系研究的拓展，顯現了台灣文學由在地出發，邁向國際的汩汩活力。換言之，從「小地方」到「大世界」，台灣文學研究的感覺結構已幡然改變。對此，本書透過10篇論文，以重要文類和議題為例，展示台灣從20世紀以來，作為一個全球化下的新興文化場域，如何吸納世界思潮和文藝美學，進而形構出與世界／文學共振、共鳴、對話的精彩面貌。 ...
