Rashid was given an elephant, whom he named Daffodil because she liked to eat daffodils. One day Daffodil went to the park alone and ate the daffodils, to the annoyance of the Park Keeper, who banned her. Daffodil tried to make amends, but without success. Later, whilst Daffodil stood sadly at the gate, she saw the Park Keeper in peril. as he hung from a tree. Daffodil ran into the park to rescue him. He was very grateful and became her friend, and she became his assistant.

Daffodil the elephant lives with Rashid and his family. One day they are having a fun day at the seaside, when Daffodil spoils it by being careless and embarrassing. Daffodil is in disgrace, and Dad is all for returning home, but Rashid persuades him to stay. Whilst fishing on the pier, a small boy falls into the water, and Daffodil leaps to his rescue. Dad is now proud of Daffodil, and the day ends happily.
