    Political conspiracy — with zombies

I bought this on the strength of Cory Doctorow's review on BoingBoing, having had my attention drawn by the front cover with an RSS logo on blood. This world — a trilogy and several shorter works so far — is richly drawn with real, damaged characters. The trilogy, starting with Feed, is a political conspiracy thriller that just happens to be set 20 years after the zombie apocalypse. It isn't *about* the zombies, in the same way that Casablanca isn't about the city, but the apocalypse colours everything that goes thereafter, just like Casablanca couldn't have been set anywhere else. If you like zombies or political conspiracies, you will love this book. And if you like this reality, you might also enjoy Grant's Parasitology series.
