  • Exciting Start To A Series.

**The author was kind enough to forward this ARC to me for an honest review.** The setting of this book is in the windy city of Chicago were four families Trentini, Rossi, Conti and DeLuca reside. The story revolves around a debt owed by Damian Rossi a member of La Famiglia to another Dino DeLuca. The Outfit is headed by their boss Terrence Trentini who governs the Mob with a firm hand. Damian Rossi is a hit man dubbed the ‘’Ghost” due to his ability to dispatch his duties without being seen. With future requests weaving a real crisis and an unexpected fall out that leaves members reeling. Damian wonders how it will all end. Being a stalwart member of Cosa Nostra Damian is well disciplined in hiding his feelings to survive but he has one chink in his armor; and that is his weakness for Lily. Lily DeLuca is thrust front and center into the Mafia lifestyle after returning to her home from her travels abroad. A request from Dino her eldest brother to do his bidding that will set the stage for the rest of her life seems unpalatable at first. Knowing that she has no choice but to accept her fate Lily is given a quick lesson into how her future will play out. Havoc, greed and mayhem ensue as Families become divided each jockeying for a more prominent position in their world of crime. Lives are lost and others blighted by painful experiences as the rules of Cosa Nostra are maintained at all costs. The story engaged my interest all the way through and I was invested into the romance of Damian and Lily. I enjoyed the banter between the siblings and felt the emotions of each family as they lived through the turmoil. I sensed Terrence Trentini’s plight of reluctance to give orders as those around him struggled with his demands. This book is a really good start to a series of Made Men dealing with a life of crime. Not all choices theirs to make but signed in blood until the day they die.........
