  • Forgiveness takes great courage

Readers first met Seth in Hayley’s book, and his story really makes him human and gives context to his relationship with Julianne. I think my favorite thing about this book is Seth’s humanity and humility – he realizes how badly he blew things in the past and he is willing to work through his issues in therapy – and it’s not easy for him. My heart ached for Julianne at times; Seth has really put her through the wringer. There is a good suspense/intrigue element in Julianne’s story (good clues to help you solve it first!), and there’s a lovely human-interest story in Seth’s (and that should bring tears to your eyes – it did mine). We see the family, the other cousins, Ronan makes a brief (and controversial return), and we even see two of the Mavasos (I love when other book characters pop in to say hi). I am looking forward to the rest of these cousins’ books; Kathryn Shay’s writing never gets old. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

  • Entertaining

4.5 star Review Seth (The Casella Cousins #2) by Kathryn Shay Kathryn Shay is a relatively new author to me and how I have not come across her books before, I have absolutely no idea. This is the second book in her latest series and I enjoyed it. The writing was strong, with characters that were easy to relate to and a story line that you cannot help but become invested in. The chemistry and connection between legal aid attorney Seth Casella and music therapist Julianne Ford is obvious. However having had her heart broken by Seth before, she has no intention of giving him another chance, despite the fact that he says he has changed. Both Seth and Julianne have grown and when a legal aid case that Seth is involved in means that he and Julianne will need to work together to help her students sparks will fly. Can they both come to terms with the past and in turn forge a path to happiness? Once click and find out. This was an entertaining read that ticked the boxes for me and I am excited to see what Ms. Shay has in store for the rest of the series.

  • Seth The Casella Cousins bk2 by Kathryn Shay

Seth -The Casella Cousins bk 2 by Kathryn Shay I love Kathryn's books and am a huge fan, and am honoured to receive an advance copy for my honest review. This new series is just if not better than the other short stories. Kathryn continues to write exceptionally brilliant, lighthearted and charming books, this is no exception. This is Seth's story we were introduced to Seth in the first book when it finished with him in hospital after stabbing at work. Here we follow him on his recovery, his ex-girlfriend Julianne and a case of fostering. Will Seth get passed his demons with Julianne? Can they find their H.E.A? Kathryn draws the reader into the story from the very first page, with the strong characters of Seth Julianne and the other family members. I love small-town romances, and Seths is a charming one… You can’t ask for much more in a series a well-written story with a very good storyline the story flows across the pages. I highly recommend 5***** Thank you, Kathryn.

  • Second Chance Romance

A second chance romance, or should I say many chances. Seth, legal aid can not remain faithful to long time girlfriend, Julianne. Julianne, is a music therapist is tired of being hurt and has entered the on line dating scene. While Seth is home recuperating, their romance rekindles but Julianne needs changes from Seth. This is a quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Great character development and dialogue. Love the reoccurring characters from previous stories. This is a part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone.

  • Seth (Casella Cousins #2)

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This story was a little hard for me to read especially after it was revealed what Seth’s dark secret it. What I liked the most, was the fact that this book made me really feel for Julianne Ford. What Seth put her through really would have been a no go if it were me. This book was such an emotional roller-coaster ride for me. The author did a fabulous job in keeping me glued to my e-reader. The second (really more like the fourth or fifth) chance at a first love was wonderfully written. The plot flowed beautifully. Little pieces of the characters’ history was just enough that it kept me intrigued along with the other mystery and intrigue of the plot. There were several threads it the story that were such an added bonus. Like would John Cordello get the two foster kids? Julianne is a music therapist. She is a busy lady. She teaches at a school; she has her own music business plus she tutors. She has done some on-line dating but her heart still breaks for Seth. Seth was stabbed in the prior book (Hayley). He works as a lawyer at a non-profit organization, Legal-Aid. He is currently living with his mother while he recuperated from his injuries. Unfortunately his mother lives right next door to Julianne. He asks Julianne to drive him to an appointment since his doctor’s orders don’t permit it. When they get back, Julianne discovers her house has been broken into. The mystery of who, what and why surround the B&E and make for a gripping story. The story was one that kept me glue to my e-reader. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story especially as it was written in a multiple POV format. I adored seeing prior characters making appearance here. This is a sexy read without being erotica. I would highly recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18. While you can read this as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend starting with “Take Me Back (Hidden Cove Firefighters Book 9). That really introduces the Casella family and the cousins.
