  • Do you need a hug?

"The Imaginary Corpse" is a murder mystery, set in the Stillreal - a place where our Imaginary Friends go when we forget them/we no longer need them. There, Detective Tippy is solving crimes and mysteries occuring among its inhabitants. The Idea itself, the story, the writing, the characters, and - of course - the case is great. But the outstanding part of this story (for me) is Tippy's honest kindness. When you're feeling bad, he asks you: "Do you need a hug?" And you say "Yes". Because he really means it.

  • Unexpected and brilliant

I’m not sure what I expected but I have just been blown away by this story. I bought it after seeing Angry Robot tweet about it and went in pretty much blind, aside from the cover art. Like a Pixar story for adults, this in inclusive, emotional story that we should all be talking about more.
