    Deeply emotive

Wounded Dance is part of a series and as such one really does need to read Forbidden Dance to appreciate this episode in the lives of Livia and Blitz. When the truth about Livia's past emerges, Blitz could have dumped her right there and then, but his protective instincts came out in full force for the fragile Livia. With Blitz's support, Livia emerges into self-confidence and she begins to make a stand for what is right. The unfairness of the actions taken by her father against her is dreadfully painful and arouses the reader to feelings of anger as well as deep sadness. Livia's past boyfriend's stubbornness in wanting to see his child puts Livia on the offensive, but when reality strikes him he crumbles. So unlike Blitz who is willing to take on the world for Livia. A deeply emotional read that strikes at the heart of every mother. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

What a surprise the baby daddy was!

Yes, the baby daddy turned out to be quite a surprise; I would never have guessed. You'll have to read the book to find out because I don't do spoilers (at least not on purpose). Wounded Dance is book two in the Lovers Dance series. Although I guess you could read each book as a standalone I don't recommend it; I think it would be a mistake to not start at the beginning. Wounded Dance picks up where Forbidden Dance left off. While Forbidden Dance didn't exactly have a cliffhanger, Wounded Dance wraps up the story with a neater bow. I loved Forbidden Dance but Wounded Dance didn't grab me quite as much. It's still a great story – a 4-star read for me – and I highly recommended reading it if you read book 1. I have to be a little critical of how abruptly things ended with Livia's baby daddy. I really can't say more without giving anything away but this is why I only gave it 4-stars instead of 5 (which is still very good imho). The rest of the book worked fine for me. Whenever Livia did something without thinking I just reminded myself that she is only 19 and led a pretty sheltered life. While some people might find it a bit unlikely for a 19-year-old to be in love the way she is with Blitz, I still remember how that feels and I married my love at 19 (40+ years ago). I'm looking forward to reading more about Blitz and Livia in the remaining three books. If you're afraid of even little cliffhangers I think book two has a very satisfying ending without even a little pesky cliffie. Deanna Roy is cunning though (in the best way), she gives us a sneak peek at book 3 just to tease us a bit and keep us primed until it's available for purchase. An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

    Good read

Second in this series and another good read. The story gains depth, there is drama, heartache, steam and romance. The main characters are honest and actually talk to each other. Worth the time spent.

    Shocker!!

Book Two in the Lover's Dance series picks up where Book One leaves off. While these might be able to be read as standalones, they read more as a continuous series to me. Blitz and Livia are back in San Antonio, taking and teaching classes at the Dreamcatcher Studio and living life together. After seeing Livia on Blitz's show, the father of her baby shows up wanting to clear the air and upon learning they had a child, to see his daughter. I was not even close to guessing who the baby daddy was and wow, what a shock! I love Livia and Blitz. The father of the baby was such a disappointment in the end. I'm really looking forward to where this series goes. *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*

A five-star review on Lovers Dance 2 Wounded Dance

This is the second book in the series and this time we know about the relationship between Livia and Denham. It is emotional, breathtaking and impossible to stop reading till the very end. I laughed, cried, and felt like punching someone hard in the face. It is unbelievable how some parents are so narrow-minded that they don’t really care about their children. Both, Livia and Denham, have lived ashamed of what they did because of the lies of some adults. The character I hated most in the book was Livia’s father. He was mean, cruel despotic. I loved how Blitz was always there to support Livia, no matter what. I highly recommend reading this series. It’s absolutely fantastic. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
