Frequently asked questions

  • Once your payment is confirmed we'll email you the order within 2-3 business days. A password-protected document will be attached to the email containing your Kobo eGift Card URLs. You'll then receive a separate email containing the password to unlock your encrypted eGift Card order. Once unlocked, the eGift URLs will be ready to send.

    Each URL contains one preactivated Kobo eGift Card. Each recipient must click on the unqiue URL sent through to them to redeem their amount. See the next question for more details on how your recipients can redeem their eGift Cards.

    Note: You'll be responsible for the secure management, storage, and delivery of the Kobo eGift Card URLs.

  • After receiving their Kobo eGift Card from you, recipients can click the URL within the email to redeem their eGift Card. This will open up a new window to Kobo.com where they'll need to click Continue and log into their Kobo account.

    If they don't already have a Kobo account, they can easily set one up for free. Once they do and are logged in, they'll be again prompted to click Redeem Now. The gifted amount will then automatically be added to their account as store credit. The credit can then be used toward eBook and audiobook purchases in the Kobo eBookstore.

    Note: Kobo eGift Cards cannot be applied towards the purchase of eReaders, accessories, or book pre-orders.

  • Kobo eGift Cards can be redeemed anywhere in the world except for Japan. The amounts will be converted to the currencies of the countries your recipients' Kobo accounts are set up in.

  • Currently, Kobo eGift Cards can be redeemed in the following currencies:

    • AUD
    • BRL
    • CAD
    • CHF
    • EUR
    • GBP
    • NZD
    • TWD
    • USD

  • Your order payment can be made via EFT (electronic funds transfer). Kobo accepts payment in the following currencies:

    • CHF

  • Your order will be processed within 2-3 business days upon its submission. Once processed, you'll receive your invoice by email. Your eGift Cards will be emailed to you 2-3 business days after your payment is confirmed.
