  • Marriage Required

Issued (Navy Seals of Little Creek #1) by Paris Wynters starts out okay even with the unbelievable part about the Navy insisting that a Navy SEAL marries. I don’t guess I see arranged marriages as part of the new or old Navy. Both of the characters take some time to become likable. Taya Maverick is on the run and impulsive while Jim Stephens is a strong steady SEAL who has suffered a personality altering at times brain injury. Both are wary, hurting and find that they are deeply attracted to each other. No surprise there. How they grow as a couple and as individuals with Taya’s past coming to haunt them is interesting if somewhat different. Perhaps some revisions and expanding certain scenes and ideas would have make this more the story for me. Still I would read another by this author to see if the plot develops along with the characters in future books. 3.5 Stars An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own. 4 Stars

  • Need to be Married

I really enjoyed Taya and Jim’s journey in Issued by Paris Wynters, book one in her Navy Seals of Little Creek series. This is a story of two people with plenty of baggage, who marry as part of the military’s new spouse-matching program. Marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes, so I was definitely excited about this story. Taya signed up for this volunteer program as a joke when dared by her search and rescue buddies; now, she’s glad this is an option after her father is killed and her home is set on fire by her former best friend. Strong, determined, loyal, and a hard worker, Taya is determined to disappear from New York in order to start over and be safe. An added plus in staying safe is her new Navy SEAL husband. After a disastrous marriage to a serial cheater Jim has no interest in every marrying again. His options were taken out of his hands by a commanding officer who refuses to take no for an order. Jim needs to save his career after a mistake in combat puts him on the leadership’s radar and an injury temporarily sidelined him. Being the first to participate in this pilot program guarantees him his position and eventually allow for his clearance to active duty. Not long after saying “I do” Jim and Taya realize they underestimated their relationship. These two have off the charts sizzling chemistry which could burn up the sheets but neither was prepared to open their heart. These two need to learn how to trust, communicate, and be honest without holding anything back, before they can move forward. Then Taya’s past makes an appearance, causing major problems that just might keep her from getting her happily ever after. Ms. Wynters wrote a passionate and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with chemistry, intense banter, and endearing characters giving Taya and Jim a chance for a future together. I highly recommend Issued to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

  • Can’t wait to read more

WOW!!! My first read by author Paris Wynters & I can’t wait to read more. This author’s attention to detail & depth of story reminds me a lot of Maya Banks & Cristan Harbor, who are at the top of my military & suspense reads list. I enjoyed how the story evolves around a temporary marriage as a military trial plan & two people both kind of broken but still too strong to give in. Death & loss is a major part of this story & it carries the angst through the entire story, keeping us waiting & wondering what’s going to happen next. I completely enjoyed both Jim & Taya’s characters & the chemistry between them. They were sizzling when they weren’t arguing & even then. Definitely looking forward to reading more of this series. Thank you to Tule publishing for letting me read this book for an honest review.

  • A great start to a new series

First let me tell you this was my first read of a book by Paris and I have to say I was very impressed I love Military romantic suspense it is a go to read for me but this was such a different take on the usual Seal romances and had me engaged right from the word go Taya Maverick has a need to disappear and what better way than to marry a unknown Seal as the pilot on a new program matching Seals to wives Jim Stephens already has one disastrous marriage behind him and really doesn't want a second but with command watching his every move after a botched mission in which he was injured he really doesn't have a choice So he agrees to be the first in a pilot program to marry of the Seals. The only problem there is a immediate attraction between them and with home recovering from an injury there is to much time for them to be together. When Taya past comes calling Jim will do whatever he needs to in an effort to keep her safe and in the process he may just realise that he actually like been married.
