  • A delightful read

Josephine’s tragic history hasn’t dimmed her sense of humor. She’s a witch on a mission and she can’t let her pesky heart get in the way. Clarence is trapped in the shadows of his past. When their paths cross, the beacon of joy that surrounds her helps him see the way out. This novella was a delightful read. The descriptive scenes place you in the story and the well rounded characters make you care and want to know how it all turns out. No spoilers, but twists are in store.

  • My kind of read

Oh my gosh, such a fun read. I absolutely loved this. Fairly clean read too. Root Brew Float has everything I adore. Ghosts. Magic. Mystery. Humor. And romance. Once again, Sydney Windward weaves an intriguing plot full of beloved characters. I loved Josephine and her furry sidekick, Jinx. Josephine’s a bit quirky, and the kind of girl who would be fun at gatherings. Her sense of humor had me smirking ear to ear. The playful banter between her and Clarence was everything. Gosh, they cracked me up. Seamless chemistry. Not a dull moment in their dialogue exchange. While every scene was a highlight, my favorites took place at Clarence’s place. It’s a bit haunted (Yesss!) and I enjoyed being able to picture the old Victorian house as if I was there. I’m just glad Clarence could never quite master the art of locking a door. Hehe.
