    Heart-wrenching, gripping, brilliant

This book is a masterful exploration of life without sight, gut-wrenching despair and hopelessness, and healing. Dax is broken in body; his captors in Hell avenged Ryker’s escape by blinding Dax and continuing their physical torment. His flashbacks and the way the story is told makes it so immediate for the reader that you feel wrung out by the end, affected in ways you might not have expected from a novel. Patricia D. Eddy is a magical storyteller; while you read her words, you are in the world she’s created, tripping over the bag left on the floor, listening for clues. In fact, there are parts of the book where I felt blind; although I was reading the words, I was with Dax; my world was black and I felt his initial panic. There is romance and love too, crafted into the story with Evianna a perfect match for Dax, with her empathy and courage - and intelligence. There are some resolutions to previous situations in this book, but they won’t detract from its strength if you haven’t read the earlier Away From Keyboard books. For those that have read them, Wren features here with her delightfully quirky curse terms. I still feel raw from the effect of this book; I cannot recommend it enough.

Brilliant story line and amazing characters!

This is book 4 in the Away From Keyboard series and it features Dax and Evianna. Wow! This book was brilliantly written! The fact that Dax has been able to come this far out of the nightmare of his past and run this successful company at the same time, is amazing. Evianna is a brilliant coder and needs Dax to keep her alive and find out who’s after her and why. There is so much action, drama and deep, deep emotional discovery. What a ride! Brilliant story line and characters! This is my first book in this series and I can’t wait to go back and read the first three. I also look forward to the next one.
