    Thanks for your feedback!

Thumpingly good book. Cinematic epic and still nuanced in it's character relationships and themes. One of my favourite books of last year. Looking forward to more.

    Truly excellent

A truly well written, engaging story that expands ones thoughts and views while simultaneously maintaining a close humanist connection. No small feat!

    Keep it coming

A new story and all our favorite players. And as usual some all new characters just to make things interesting. If you enjoyed the first two books it's time to read the third in this exciting series. If you haven't then start back at the first book as this so nicely continues to build on the central story line introduced to us then.

    Many Confusing Elements

This review was first published on Kurt's Frontier. Winner of the 2014 Locus Science Fiction Award Synopsis: Humanity’s great frontier was its own solar system for centuries. An alien artifact has been working through its program under the clouds of Venus. Now it is orbiting Uranus where it has constructed a gate that leads out into the broader universe. Jim Holden has been up against this artifact before. He hopes to have nothing more to do with it this time, but a complex plot unfolds that places his ship, the Rocinate, into a fleet of scientific and military ships. The big question is whether the gate is a threat or an opportunity. However, the greater danger is the one they brought with them. Review: This is the third book of James S. A. Corey’s The Expanse series. (Note, I haven’t read the others.) The story revolves around Jim Holden, Captain of the Rocinate; Bull, the security officer of Behmouth, a multi-generation ship re-purposed as a warship; Clarissa, a young woman who has sworn to kill Holden and all he cares about; and Annushka Volovodov, a pastor and a spiritual advisor to the fleet. There is also a ghost called Miller that tends to be cryptic. The concepts of the story were interesting. However, many elements were confusing, perhaps because I started with book three. I found bouncing between the four viewpoints a bit jarring. Still, the story was entertaining. The exploration of interplanetary travel was interesting.

    Great Read

A very good tale. Good character development. A little bit windy, but enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
