  • Romance with a Dash of Mystery

I've been ready for this series finale all year, and it was worth the wait! It was quick to remind me of why I fell in love with the series in the first place: The chemistry between Audrey Rose and Thomas has always been fun and swoon-worthy, since Thomas will bend over backwards to make his beloved happy. As has been the trend of the previous books, the romance takes centre stage. While I hadn't expected things to turn out the way they did, it didn't truly take me out of the story. I've always enjoyed seeing Audrey Rose and Thomas combat the circumstances attempting to keep them apart. Not that the mystery was completely side-lined. It really seemed like this dynamic duo were chasing a ghost, and its connection to one of the characters added to said character's depth. It also led to a terrifying ending that had me biting my nails and really creeping me out. As for the characters, while there were appearances by familiar faces and new persons to love, it was of course Audrey Rose and Thomas who stole the show. I loved watching them grow and fight for each other. They are truly a swoon-worthy romances and while the author makes it perfectly evident how deeply these two love each other (seriously, this series is a romance with mystery in it), I was never bored by it. Kerri Maniscalco knows what her readers like and delivered on that. The maturity, depth, and passion between these two is something I will truly miss and always treasure. I would also like to point out that, like previous novels, this book is gorgeous. It's design was a joy to read and I am so grateful to have it on my shelves. I had a great time reading this book and series and recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic, gothic mystery with two clever and witty characters.

  • Can Thomas and Audrey capture this devil?

In the final book of the Stalking Jack the Ripper series Audrey and Thomas must catch the most diabolic killer they have ever faced. Do they have any hope of capturing this devil? It was both wonderful and bittersweet following Audrey and Thomas on their final case. The descriptions of both New York and Chicago were beautifully written and I really felt I was standing there with the characters taking it all in. I was happy to see characters return from past books. The author picked the perfect final villain and love that she even used words out of his own mouth in one part of the book. This book had some really great plot twists which I didn't see coming. I loved all the Thomas and Audrey moments in this book. The good, the bad and every moment in between made them grow closer and they are just perfect for each other. Thomas is one of my favorite book boyfriends he is always so thoughtful and sweet with Audrey and always has me swooning. Audrey's bravery and how she always follows her dreams even when society tells her not to make her one of my favorite heroines. I will miss Audrey, Thomas, and Co. but the ending was perfect. I can't imagine a better ending for Audrey and Thomas. Rating: 5 stars
