Action, danger, romance...what a great read!

The “SEALS of Shadow Force” Series has become one of my favorites and Fatal Thrill was another great addition to this series. With action, danger, romance, and a cast of characters that have formed a tight-knit family, Fatal Thrill had everything I enjoy when I pick up a book! Jaya and Jon were just perfect. They met in Fatal Vision and I just knew there was going to be something between these two. Both Jon and Jaya have had some tough times in their past and both are convinced that they are just not meant for a happy ever after – but when they meet each other and fate intervenes these two quickly step up to create their own happily ever after. I’m am not a huge fan of the accidental baby trope, but I really felt that this story would not have been as good without it…well played, Ms. Evans! Jon and Jaya balance each other out perfectly and I loved how they were able to open up to each other and deal with all the things that were thrown at them, including addressing some issues from their past. And getting to spend time with characters from the other books in the series is also a favorite of mine – highlighted in this book by the totally antagonistic relationship that Jaya has with Colton…what fun their bantering was! I love how everyone just accepted Jaya into their group and immediately supported her like she had always been part of their “family”. And it wouldn’t be a review of a book in this series if I didn’t mention my love for Beatrice – one of my all-time favorite characters! I loved the backdrop of Ireland and all of the lore the Misty Evans has brought into this book. The castles and landscape of Ireland were the perfect setting for the treasure hunt that Jon and Jaya find themselves on and I loved having the lore of the gypsies – both Irish and Romanian – woven into the story. The twists and turns the plot took were just perfect – from unsuspecting family relations to several twists that helped to create closure to events from the past, each turn this story took kept me all-in and wanting to turn the pages. Another must read from Misty Evans. This can be read as a stand-alone, but I would encourage everyone to start at the beginning so they can get to know the entire SFI team.

    A must read!!!

LOVED this book! I love Jaya and Jon's story and their family histories. This novel begins with a tug on the heartstrings then moves into a quickly moving tale filled with suspense. This is a great twist on contemporary treasure hunting. I particularly enjoyed the bits of culture woven throughout the story, from Romani to Gypsy, to Irish, and Native American Indian. I consider myself well read, but learned lots of interesting trivia about the different cultures. This is a must read for fans of the genre. The author is on my must read authors' list and should probably be on yours as wel.

    Love this series!

Fatal Thrill, the latest in Misty Evans' SEALs of Shadow Force series, is a romantic suspense that took this reader in so many unexpected directions--I never knew from one chapter to the next where Jaya and Jon were going to end up! Ruined castles, stolen heirlooms, gypsies, Native Americans, caves full of a serial killer's victims' bones--they're all here, and more. Plus, just about every other Shadow Force couple makes an appearance here (with baby Shelby in tow!), adding to the fun. (Former SEALs cuddling a seven-month-old baby. I'm not sure how my ovaries survived the reading of this... ;)) I haven't had a chance yet to read book five in the series ( Fatal Vision --the only one I've missed so far!), which is apparently when Jaya and Jon met, so it did feel a bit as if I was joining their story midway. In terms of the suspense storyline, this was definitely a standalone; but seeing their squee-worthy HEA here, you'd better believe I'll be checking out how those two got started by reading Colton and Shelby's book ASAP. Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Misty Evans hit it out of the park with Fatal Thri

Misty Evans hit it out of the park with Fatal Thrill. The outstanding plot, fast paced action and complex emotions in this 6th book of the SEALS of Shadow Force Romantic Suspense novel pulls reader in and hold us in an unrelenting grip. But who wants to escape this kin of adventure or romance anyway. We met and fell in love with, and laughed at, Jaya and Jon when they showed up to support Shelby and Colby in their story and now we get to experience their personal romance. The tough, independent couple can admit to themselves that they are in love but Jon refuses to believe that he is capable of maintaining a relationship while Jaya firmly believes in the two of them, but she sure wishes that this unexpected stomach virus hadn't shown up before she had a chance to convince him. Ok, maybe she is a bit in denial. It is natural that Jaya turns to Jon when her brother and estranged father are kidnapped and the culprit demands something that Jaya doesn't have in exchange for their return. The race to locate what may be an important part of her heritage or may be just an Irish dream leads Jaya to discoveries about her heritage that she never would have imagined but first it leads to grave danger for the good guys and the bad. I received an ARC of this book from the author and loved it. It is my pleasure to shout about how good it is.
