This was just an easy read. It captured me from the start and really makes you wonder what happens when we are gone.

I had a very hard time starting this book. I knew it would ultimately destroy me and I was procrastinating the inevitable. I think the writing was brilliant, the story being told by the three protagonists was fabulous in telling their stories. I will be looking out for more books by Catherine McKenzie. This again had me from the start but I had to put it down and then came back to it after a few months of psyching myself up for it, as I knew it would be an emotional read. As predicted it was that and more, I loved Claire and Jeff, I was routing for them from the start, Jeff was taken from Claire to soon, however she was a wife in mourning and then to stumble upon the possibility of her not truly knowing her husband and that their lives were not she envisioned, was an emotional roller coaster, and Patricia (Tish) seriously just her name had me disliking her, I found her character rubbed be the wrong way, however her one redeeming quality came when she told her daughter why she didn't play golf professional, was because she had stage fright, and instead of working to overcome she quit, because golf came easy to her, the minute she had to work for it she gave up. It still didn't make me like her. I found she wasn't thinking of Claire but only herself preservation, deleting all the incriminating emails and texts, all so she wouldn't lose what she still had, Claire was just an afterthought only because she could still stir up trouble for Tish and her family. I loved everyone's character in this book even Julie Tish's only girlfriend who stated she was trying to be by her side but didn't agree with what she did. Tim love him hate him, he needed to grow up and I think he did finally, it took Jeff's passing to do it however, but he did. I wish I didn't read the epilogue as I was so hoping in this day of broken marriages and infinity, it would have been great to walk away from a book where there was some moral sensibilities, and they all just kept it in there respective pants. Catherine McKenzie if you read this, I just want to say I loved your book, and I loved the style with which you write. I just realized I read two other Catherine books Forgotten and Arranged, I gave both 4 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. I love the chapters coming from different characters point of view as it gives the reader a full picture of what did or didn't happen. Definitely worth a read!

Keeps you guessing until the end. Sad that all info didn't come out.
