Synopsis

In the first Chicago Aces romance from the bestselling author of the Heller Brothers Hockey series, a fun-loving free spirit tempts an uptight hockey star into opening himself up to love.

As the captain of the Chicago Aces, Marc Dupuis is all business. The apartment he shares with his teammate and best friend, Duncan, is a refuge from the pressures of fame. But when the sexiest woman he’s ever seen interrupts his early morning coffee wearing only a skimpy cami and matching panties, Marc can’t exactly say he minds. Their chemistry is off the charts. Unfortunately, this girl’s no random puck bunny. She’s Duncan’s little sister—and she’s moving in.

Lovey Armstrong could stare at Marc’s chiseled abs and listen to his French-Canadian accent all day. She just has no idea what’s going on inside his head: When he’s not charming her pants off, Marc makes a Zamboni machine seem warm and cuddly. Lovey knows the team’s bro code says no messing with sisters, but all these mixed messages are hard on a girl’s self-esteem—especially since she’s finally getting her new life together in Chicago. She decides he’s worth another shot . . . because if anyone can melt the ice around Marc’s heart, it’s Lovey.

    Opposites attract

Lovey Armstrong decides to up and move to Chicago and stay with her brother who plays hockey for the Chicago Aces but she doesn’t know he already has a roommate, his team captain Marc Dupuis. Marc is just coming out of a 2 year relationship and staying with his teammate for a while. He didn’t expect Army’s little sister to come stay. While he is all about hockey, Lovey just may be up for some action off the ice. I really loved this story. While Lovey may seem flighty I see her as a typical 24 year old that is looking for direction. She knew what she wanted to do and I like how she didn’t use her brother for his connections. She tried to make it on her own. I just can’t say enough about how I liked Lovey. She wasn’t judgmental and was friendly towards everyone. It is so refreshing to see women getting along in a book. At one part in the story Lovey went to a bar where her brother and his teammates were. They were also with a group of women who were trying to get with them. Lovey didn’t immediately see them as sluts like women in other books would have. She thought these women were friends and was really nice to them. Lovey did come across as a little spoiled because even her brother couldn’t say no to her but I see why she was like that. It wasn’t like she created that situation. People just had a hard time saying no to her and when someone did say no she just rolled with it. I liked Lovey and Marc together. Marc seems so straight laced but he could be fun. I think Lovey was a good contrast to Marc. You never really read where the woman is the aggressor in the story but she was. He was the one who wanted to respect her brother’s wishes for his teammates not to date his sister but Lovey was like I’m a grown woman and can do whatever I want. You have to read the book to see if they get together and you will enjoy it. I just really recommend this book. I liked it a lot.

    Amazing

An amazing start to a new series. It has a great group of characters that should provide us with fantastic stories in the future. In this one we have Lovey Armstrong. Duncan Armstrong is one of the pilot players and Lovey is his little sister. She's hilarious, free spirited, and determined. When she shows up on the Duncan's doorstep needing a place to stay he obviously can't turn her away. Having her staying there with him and his roommate probably isn't the best idea though. His roommate is team captain Marc Dupuis. Always the stoic serious one, Lovey is determined to get him to smile. After all he's big, strong, French, and hot as hell. There's an immediate attraction but since she's Duncan's little sister, totally off limits. Are maybe, what Duncan doesn't know won't hurt him...... Can't wait to read the next in this series! I highly recommend this one.

    Majorly Attracted

Lovey Armstrong cones to Chicago to live with her brother. He is an NHL star for the Chicago Aces, and his roommate is the team captain, Marc Dupuis. The sparks fly between Lovey and Marc from the second they meet! Lovey wants Marc. Anywhere and anyway she can have him. And Lovey, always gets what she wants. Only problem? Her brother has warned everyone off that she is off limits. As her brother's best friend, Marc is sure to stay away, right? Marc knows if he does not stay far away from Lovey, he will give in to the want that rips through him every time he is in her presence. He thinks about her all the time. He has never felt this way about any woman. Lovey and Marc end up sneaking around behind her brothers back. What he does not know won't hurt him, right? After all, he thinks she has never grown up. Maybe it is time to come clean with a few truths? This book is seriously HOT! A great start to the Aces Hockey series! I loved the hockey fun, the hotties that were on just about every page, the banter, the character development, and more. I was pleased to see such an amazing book and cannot wait to see the next one! ***This ARC was given by Netgalley.com and its publisher for an honest review.

    Fun Hockey Romance!

I was given an advanced copy of this book to write an honest review for Netgalley and Cocktails and Books. I’m a big fan of Kelly Jamieson and hockey romances, so I was thrilled to read her first book in the Aces Hockey series and I’m happy to say, I enjoyed everything about this enchanting romance that is both sweet and sexy. The story is entertaining and also has genuine characters with multiple layers that are easy to connect with. The story revolves around the players on the Aces hockey team in Chicago and in particular Marc Dupuis. Marc is the captain of the team and has the reputation of being cautious, series and responsible. These attributes make him a good leader for the team, but he needs a little more fun in his life. Everything changes when he meets Lovey Armstrong, his teammate’s little sister. Once he sees her, he can’t seem to think straight and she has him twisted up in knots. Lovey’s brother, Duncan has warned all his teammates to stay away from his sister and Marc really does try, but Lovey makes it impossible. Marc and Lovey are great together. Marc is quiet and careful and Lovey is fun loving, flighty and outgoing. She is kind of a dork, and has a lot of silly expressions that she uses throughout the book. Marc and Lovey are total opposites, but sometimes opposites attract. There is a lot of chemistry between these two as they try to spend time together without anyone knowing. Lovey’s brother Duncan is so protective of her, it is cute, but I can understand how it would annoy Lovey. I really like Marc. He is loyal and protective of everyone he cares about and he is always so sweet to Lovey. He also has a sexy French accent and Lovey finds it impossible to resist him when he speaks to her in French. He’s a nice guy, although a little insecure about woman, but smoking hot in the bedroom. There are also engaging secondary characters that add fun to this story. The guys on the hockey team love to give each other a hard time and of course, everyone has a nickname. I look forward to reading more stories about the players on the team in future books in this series. It’s exciting to find a new series that is satisfying and hard to put down.

Great start to a new series

Review copy provided by publisher I've read a few books by Kelly Jamieson in the past and have always enjoyed her voice. I was super excited to read her new Chicago Aces hockey series. Major Misconduct was a great start to the Chicago Aces series. I really loved Marc Dupuis from the moment we met him and could feel the connection between him and Lovey immediately. Their chemistry was off the charts hot, and I loved watching them fall for one another. I really loved them as a couple, but hated they had to keep it a secret from Lovey's brother Duncan. I did however, love how Duncan caught them together and it did make me laugh out loud. I took a bit longer to really love Lovey's character. I didn't like that she was keeping secrets from her brother about her job hunt and her business ideas, but totally understood after she told him what she was doing. I loved Lovey's idea for her business and found it completely relevant for the social media world today. I will say I found Lovey to be a bit immature at times and really didn't like how she treated Marc when she got scared their relationship was moving too fast. She tends to run away and I loved Marc so much, I didn't want to see him get hurt. I did love that she always makes up for her mistakes in a big way though. I really enjoyed Major Misconduct and am already looking forward to more books in the Chicago Aces series from Kelly Jamieson.
