  • Interesting premise, well executed until final third.

Picked this up after listening to several podcasts where popular authors recommended it. The first two thirds has interesting world building and character development, the tension is a little arbitrary but still enough to keep you drawn in. Then the book needs to end. The climax is somewhat dull and predictable. The ending leaves you with more questions than answers. It is a novel that would have benefited with an extra 50 pages exploring the themes and character motivations. Overall the unique setting and good first half, plus the fact I am still thinking about it months later, make this book worth the time.

  • Deep Dive Into Protagonist's Mind

This book's center is its main character, and as the reader, we see and experience everything through her eyes. For fans of science fiction, there is a unique an interesting world, filled with technology that feels grounded in reality. But it deals with deeper psychological themes than most scifi I have read or watched. For fans of character driven drama, this book has that plus a very compelling environment. It started to feel a bit slow and uneventful for me, so I cheated and read a summary. But even with that knowledge, I was drawn back to finishing it. Engaging read and tale of discovery: suspenseful and immersive.

  • Confusion city

Disjointed and confusing narrative. Un-engaging characters. Sscene on which whole book is built revealed only 40 pages from the end. Tortuous inner musings form bulk of book. Things are still unclear at the end.

  • Many surprises

A story that is fun to read. A main character broken by past events. So many lies and betrayals. So many surprises.
