  • High tension thriller

Another hit from A.J., I had to keep putting this book down and come back to it. The tension builds until I was afraid of what was coming. This is a scary good story. Since I went by the Stanford campus last year it was easy to imagine the locations. I can easily recommend this book and look forward to the next story in the Carbon series.

  • Another fabulous story by Scudiere

Once again Scudiere has written a book that I could not put down. The action was non stop and, although the characters are not my favorite of hers (those would be Cyn and Lee from Vengeance) I do enjoy the way they are developed. I will even say the author almost made me hate one of them due to her actions. This, to me made the store that much better. Anytime a strong emotion can be brought out of the reader is a good aspect. I would also like to note that although the part of the story really had no similarities to it, I couldn't help but imagine Brad Pitt from the movie seven when one of the characters asked "what's in the box?" This is probably a sure sign of the weird tangents my mind will go on, but none the less it added to my enjoyment of the story. I tend to always find something in Scudiere's books that trigger thoughts of other books or movies. Overall I would highly recommend The Surface to everyone. I believe if you are not already a fan of the author, you will eventually become one. Do not hesitate now.

  • A great read

there is not a lot to say about The Surface except that if you like non stop suspense then this is right up your ally. Seldom do books start and finish with so much excitement. I loved it.
