Wow. Robyn Davidson is a very intelligent, funny and altruistic person. Her story bares all and leaves you feeling a little raw yourself in places and at times you can see similarities in her personal journey with our own everyday struggles. I saw the movie first and was deeply disapointed that they didnt show her obviously overt personality and sense of humour and chose to show her as a person with mental issues instead of the very strong and emotionally resilient person she seemed to be in the book.

  • Enthralling read

This was an amazing, enthralling tale of a woman's extraordinary search for self fulfilment. Her writing style is relatable (as a female reader) and insight into Australian indigenous people's lost cultural rights and treatment is thought provoking. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Started out okay but soon became tedious and repetitive as story progressed .

A poetic story of adventure, courage and the beauty of the desert and its native inhabitants. Loved it.
