a sailors tales of bars and bargirls, #2

Buenos Aires was the main port we visited. This was a major port for us, and we could stay there a fairly long time - several days if not weeks. It was a beautiful city even though we mostly visited the red light district there. This was a stretch on "25 de Mayo". It was full of bars, and these were equally full of bar girls. No wonder we sailors were attracted to it.

The stories I have collected here are those I experienced in Buena Venture - reputed to be the most violent city in the country. The "red light district" in this place was called "shankel hill" and that is where we sailors spent most of our time. That we survived was because of the girls - we spent most or our time getting drunk and getting laid.

I have edited my memories in the hope that nobody shall feel disturbed by the text. The events are all true but be warned, my memories may not be all that accurate.. Most events took place when I was young (Late -60's and the -70's) After I married I calmed down.I you feel offended/disturbed by the subject matter (consensual sex, prostitution) then please don't download or read it.

Two young women arrive on a remote ranch and the cowboys are competing for their attention, "some with a foolish grin, some downcast and reserved, some swaggering in the natural pride of the lady's man." Hidden Water explores how American cowboys talked, thought, and behaved during the turn of the last century. Coolidge's cowboys include "the men that could rope, the men that could ride, the quitters, the blowhards, the rattleheads, the lazy, the crooked, the slow-witted." The novel was wr...
