Kit Rocha has hit the nail on the head.

The Beyond series is ending after 9 books and novellas. I have enjoyed reading about the men and women living and loving in the Sectors surrounding the walled city of Eden. The rulers of Eden have never been very nice. Tensions have been building for years. The Sectors have finally had enough and are now working together to take down the leaders of Eden. Beyond Surrender is Nessa and Ryder’s story. Nessa is Sector Four’s resident Sommelier. And her expertise is whiskey. Whiskey is the main export for the O’Kanes. It is the product on which Dallas O’Kane’s empire is built. She has tried many hobbies, but the only thing that really interests her is creating great liquor. Nessa is the designated little sister to everyone in Sector Four. This is a problem when you want to find someone to connect with. Ryder has been trained by his mentor to wage war. A war that Jim Jernigan knew was inevitable. Ryder never really wanted to lead a Sector but when a coordinated execution of Sector leaders takes out Jim, Ryder succeeds him as leader. And now war has arrived. Ryder joins Dallas O’Kane and contributes muscle as well as intelligence to the battle. This book is a slow burn affair for Nessa and Ryder. We learn Ryder’s first name and how Nessa left Texas and came to live in Sector Four. Ryder’s family history is revealed. Lex and Dallas lead the war. Ashwin plays an important role in the story. Rachel is having a baby. We meet Penelope, an Eden hacker who is tired of their BS. Dylan (Doc) and Kora’s medical skills are pressed into service. A box of tissues is required while reading this book. War is hell but don’t worry. Beyond Surrender is a romance, complete with the required HEA. I know this is supposed to be dystopian fiction, but this line seems to explain the world we are currently experiencing. The “fight is with the corrupt leaders who hold us all hostage. The men who preach purity in all things while they hide their addictions and underage lovers, who demand integrity and then laugh about the idea behind closed doors. The hypocrites who talk about the sanctity of life...and then wreak destruction on a sector full of children.” The writing team of Kit Rocha has hit the nail on the head. While I am sad the series is ending, I am looking forward to the spin off series, Gideon's Raiders. It would be sad to leave the Sectors behind forever. O'Kane For Life!!!

*sigh* I was both so excited and extremely sad to read this book. I have fallen so head over heels in love with the O'Kane's that saying goodbye is like losing a best friend, or a lover. In Beyond Surrender, we finally get to see what will happen when Nessa and Ryder combine dreams and reality, spontaneity and careful planning, heart and brains. I absolutely LOVE Nessa. Her impulses and the way that she falls in love with so many things so hard and fast speaks to me so much because I am exactly the same way. I love the fact that we finally got to know her in this story, and that the war with Eden and the story with Nessa and Ryder fit so perfectly together. I cried. I'll admit it. I think I cried 4 times during this book. This was a perfect wrap up. I want more. I do. But even so, I'm content with how this series ended. O'Kane for life.

    Loved so hard!!!

I honestly wasn't sure to expect when I started reading Beyond Surrender. I knew this would be the final battle between the sectors and Eden and knew we would get a romance with Nessa and Ryder, but beyond that, I'm not sure I was ready for the roller coaster ride that was Beyond Surrender. I honestly don't feel like I can say much without giving away the entire story. First I'll say I really loved that Nessa finally found a man who would stand up to her O'Kane family and really see her and love her. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow into more as they prepared for war and even into the war. They had pretty amazing chemistry and as one would expect from an O'Kane book, smoking hot sex scenes. I'm not going to lie to anyone. Have tissues ready when reading Beyond Surrender. I even tweeted the authors while reading I was made they made me cry so many times and so hard at least once. The war is brutal and I really didn't know if everyone I wanted to survive would survive. Even while I was bawling my eyes out and cursing the authors, I wouldn't change anything about the story or the outcome. I honestly feel like Kit Rocha gave the fans of the Beyond series everything they could possible expect from the war between Eden and the sectors. Beyond Surrender totally and completely wrecked me many times as I read it, but there were also times I was laughing out loud and sighing in happiness. I can't wait to start the spin-off series of Gideon's Riders when it is released. Rating: 5 Stars (A+) Review copy provided by publisher

    Fantastic Finale!!!!!

Five stars are just not enough for this, the final book in the Beyond series!!! I can't believe it's over!!! And let me tell you, I cried several times!!! WOW!!! First of all, I have to say, if you are reading this book then you should know that this book is NOT A STAND ALONE!!!!! If you haven't read the rest of the series then STOP NOW!!!! Go back and read the first eight novels and three novellas!!! And know that they are worth every single cent you spend on them!!!! This is the ONLY post-apocalyptic series I read (until Gideon's Riders comes out) and it is one of the very best series I have ever read!!! Now, on to the review. This book focuses on Nessa and Ryder, as well as the war. But it touches on all the characters we have fallen in love with over the last three years. Nessa, the O'Kane princess! Everyone's little sister! Pampered and protected, and more lonely than anyone knows. Their story is a bit bumpy at times, after all there is a war brewing and Ryder has been raised to believe nothing is more important than bringing down Eden. But it is a story that is just as worthy of being told as every story Kit Rocha ever told. And that is all I am going to say. Because I don't give spoilers and everything else I can think of would give something away. This story was well worth the wait!!!!!

It's the one we've all been waiting for...

*This review will have spoilers for the previous books in the series, but not so much for Beyond Surrender. I've been sitting here trying to come up with the words to describe how much I loved this book. And I can't. I read Beyond Shame 5 months after it was released. I've been stalking the heck out of these authors ever since. I couldn't wait for Beyond Control. Then I couldn't wait for Beyond Pain, so on and so on.There are very few authors that as soon as their books are released (or if I can get an early copy) I have to read straight away. Kit Rocha is most definitely one of them. We've gone through Jasper & Noelle and Lex & Dallas and Bren & Six etc. Every book, every novella, every extra scene I got to read I gobbled up the first chance I got. But not this one. I waited about a week to start it because I wasn't ready to say goodbye. But once I started, I couldn't stop. Nessa has been a constant in the Beyond series, everybody's favorite little sister who loves to paint her nails and get all the dirty details on everybody's sex life. She's been burned once before and is determined not to make that mistake again, so instead of getting close to anyone she soaks up, maybe a little jealously, the passion going on around her. We also have Ryder. Sexy, sexy Ryder. The new leader of Sector Five and Jim Jernigan's successor. His whole life has been leading up to this war that he's been preparing for most of his life. This book was freaking wild. Wild. We didn't get as much sexy-times as say Beyond Shame BUT that in no way means this book wasn't as good. I mean the war is finally here, shit is going down, people are dying and as much as people cling to each other in times of despair, life isn't as fun as it used to be. We get a ton of alternate POVs *YAY* and a lot of insight into characters we haven't met yet—and some that we're dying to read their stories (I'm looking at you Ashwin). I don't know if I'll ever forgive these authors for what happened in Chapter 17 but I get why it had to happen. Even if I didn't like it. Damn it I'm crying again. Anyways, I loved this book. It made me want to go back and re-read the whole entire series again. Which I probably will do before Ashwin comes out. This book definitely isn't rainbows and butterflies—people on both sides die all because Eden couldn't contain their greed. Thank God Kit Rocha is continuing writing in this world, moving over to Sector One. I want to thank Kit Rocha for writing this series, which is one of, if not my most favorite series of all time. I fell in love with their writing. I fell in love with the characters they created. I can't wait to see what the hell they come up with next. O'Kane for life! *An advanced copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.
