    In Foreign Fields

Coming from a military background as I do (father and brother did their 22) I was not at all surprised at the humble attitudes of all subject personnel to the award of individual honours. I WAS shocked at my own ignorance of just what our armed forces went through over a sistained period of time. This is a non sentimental, often brutal collection of human stories that demands respect whether the reader agrees with direct action or not. This account is devoid of politics and focusses on what happens after momentous decisions are made and handed to teams and individuals to follow though. Essential reading if you want to understand better how a human functions in a team wben under extreme duress and disciplined training kicks in.

Best book I’ve read dealing with modern war. Having their personal story told whilst their citation is told.
