    I Know This Place

This place is everyne's hometown, with all the seediness exposed. The story reminds us, and even outright tells us, onseveral occcasions, not to expect to much. It also tells us to go with the good times, becuse they are fleeting. This is the first work of Russo's I have read, and I selected it because it was his first novel, and seemed like a good place to start. I am usually hesitant with regard to first novels, but this one paints a nice picture. I walk away hoping to hear from some of these characters in future works. I have met some of them in my travels, and know them as if they live in the neighborhood.
