    Enjoyable

I enjoyed this one! It's a bit different and slightly silly at times but it was very entertaining. Macayla Burkett is working as a pet detective. What exactly is a pet detective you ask? She spends her days looking for lost pets and returning them to their owners. While searching for missing greyhounds, she witnesses a violent incident. She doesn't realize how much trouble she's stumbled upon until she finds herself as a target. Oliver Kelly is a world renowned SAR specialist. When he first sees Macayla digging through the dumpster he assumes she's hungry and offers to buy her breakfast. The reality is she's trying to coax a pup out into the open. Macayla takes one look at Oliver and assumes he's a male stripper. And this is how their fun and crazy relationship starts. It's all fun until they both realize that Macayla is in danger. I have to admit being from Tampa it was fun reading about all the places around the area. Still the story itself was entertaining and I would recommend this one.

    Romantic Suspense

Having read the blurb for this book I thought of other canine detective cozy mysteries I have read and knew that this book would not be like any of those. Why? Because the author of this series deals with issues that are a bit more intense and a whole lot more real. So, with that said and knowing I have liked every book I have read by this author, I was more than ready to read and enjoy this story – and I did just that while getting to know Mac and Oliver and Oliver’s K-9 partner, Jackeroo. Macayla “Mac” Burkett is a Pet Detective/PI who finds lost, runaway and abducted domestic animals. She is very good at what she does but takes on other side jobs to augment her income. When Oliver Kelly, Australian co-owner of *BARKS, and Mac first lay eyes on one another they both make assumptions that are dead wrong about who/what the other person is. From their first encounter to Oliver’s stepping in to help Mac out of a situation or two and then her return of the favor later on when he faces something he is dreading they seem to have an affinity and attraction that is rather strong – though neither really expects more than a brief encounter due to the limited time Oliver is in town. Add into this the fact that someone is setting Mac up for dog-napping, extortion, the fact that her life is in danger and other issues from the past that they are both dealing with and you end up with a complex well written novel that is action-packed, intriguing and at times steamy. Catching up with some of the characters (briefly) from previous books was also fun. I am hopeful this will not be the last book in the series because I want to know that this HFN story has a HEA ending in the future…along with wanting to read another K-9 Rescue love story. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – this is my honest review. *BARKS = Bolt Action Rescue K-9 Service - trained and supervised professional K-9 Search And Rescue teams worldwide.) 4.5 Stars

    Great Read

'PHYSICAL FORCES' by D.D. Ayres is book Six in the "K-9 Rescue" series. This is the story of Macayla 'Mac' Burkett and Oliver Kelly. I have not yet read the other books in this series so for me it was a standalone book . Mac does Pet Detective work which now has landed her in some serious trouble after one of her cases lead to a bigger crime. Oliver is part owner of a K-9 Search and Rescue business. They get off to a rocky start it seems but they end up help each other solve what has been going with the animals. I have never read a Dog Detective Romance Before and this one had a little bit of everything in it. We had the Hot Hero, the strong heroine, some funny scene and of course the animals. Overall Great Read! "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

    I liked it

This is my first book in the K-9 Rescue series. This story is about Macayla and Oliver. Macayla is working as a local pet rescuer and is trying to coax a dog out from under a dumpster, when Oliver while going on a run with his K-9 parter Jackeroo, mistakes Macayla as a homeless person. From this point on trouble ensues Macayla, from getting her car trashed by some young deviants waving a bat, to being accused of dognapping the very animals she is ordered to rescue. Let's not forget that prior to her meeting Oliver, on another case, she witnessed a murder. Macayla is a very sweet, protective and independent woman who falls for Oliver. Oliver and his partner Kye, own and operate BARKS (Bolt Action K-9 Rescue Services) that goes around the world to help people that are in imminent danger from natural disasters. Oliver and Macayla have chemistry the moment they lay eyes upon each other. This was an alright read for me. I liked the story well enough, though I felt it was drawn out in some places and though Oliver and Macayla get together I just did not feel the passion of their love.

    Sexy and Comedic

This is my first book by Ayres. It also happens to be book six in A K-9 Rescue Series. This s the story of Macayla “Mac” who’s a pet detective and Oliver a K-9 Search and Rescue operative. The teasing banter, sexy flirting and comedy between the two were what made the book so good. After finishing Physical Forces, I had to go back and pick up the other books just to see what I missed. I am happy to say I have found a new one click author. I cannot wait to read my next one.
