Lots of good but quite a bit of bad

Stephen kings "It" is around a thousand pages long and sometimes when I was reading it I felt like it easily could've been half that size and still told the same story. It is riddled with unexciting filler that can bring the story to a grinding halt. Unexceptional small details about uninteresting events and people can fill entire chapters and because of that I could find myself struggling to keep reading. The best thing I can say about this book is "it" itself, pennywise the clown is easily one of the most sinister villains that comes to recent memory. The main seven characters are also quite likeable which can make you care about what happens to them. Overall I would say that it is bloated with filler but underneath it all is a great story with likeable heroes fighting an unrelenting evil.

    Terrifying

Still one of the scary stories ever. Not a book you can read before bedtime.

    Not bad

Most of the book is engaging as King always writes strong introductions with relatable characters. Pacing could be better and some of the plotline remains ambiguous/confusing. Although I felt the ending was anti-climactic, it still has a great plot with exciting moments.

    We all float here

Inside the story everyone seems to know but how well? The terror is brought with more then anyone can pack into a movie and questions are answered in more detail then you realized you wanted! Follow the loser's club through their childhood and rediscover the horrors that every child seems to catch themselves playing with. This monster happens to stay when you turn on the lights or look under the bed. The clock is ticking, the time to get sucked into the story and let your adrenaline spike is a click away, you have to see what is in the dead lights, and find out....will you float too?
