  • Lots of good but quite a bit of bad

Stephen kings "It" is around a thousand pages long and sometimes when I was reading it I felt like it easily could've been half that size and still told the same story. It is riddled with unexciting filler that can bring the story to a grinding halt. Unexceptional small details about uninteresting events and people can fill entire chapters and because of that I could find myself struggling to keep reading. The best thing I can say about this book is "it" itself, pennywise the clown is easily one of the most sinister villains that comes to recent memory. The main seven characters are also quite likeable which can make you care about what happens to them. Overall I would say that it is bloated with filler but underneath it all is a great story with likeable heroes fighting an unrelenting evil.

  • Totally Creepy and Terrifying

It has been a few years since I read this book but it is the ONLY book I have ever read that scared the heck out of me. That horrible clown is totally creepy and terrifying. It sure has stuck with me and there is no way I am going to see the movie. Don't like clowns any more either. Not for bedtime reading in my opinion unless you want nightmares.

  • It, by Stephen King

Amazingly written, a novel woven with terror, laughter, comraderie, and words that leave your mind to wander if all of our childhoods have their own version of a Derry within itself. A book that will be read and re-read time and time again!!!

  • Not bad

Most of the book is engaging as King always writes strong introductions with relatable characters. Pacing could be better and some of the plotline remains ambiguous/confusing. Although I felt the ending was anti-climactic, it still has a great plot with exciting moments.

  • Everything I wanted it to be!

This is the second Stephen King book I've read. When I originally picked it up I was discouraged by how long it was and by how rambling it seemed, so I abandoned it when I got about 20% through the book. After watching the 2017 movie adaptation and loving it, I decided to pick it back up. This time through, I paid much more attention to characters and settings and became obsessed! This story is detailed and connected, well thought out and magical...in a demonic kind of way. This book will make you feel so many things! Stephen King is quickly becoming one of my favourite writers! I must include, however, that although I am a horror and gore enthusiast, there were parts of this book that even I found hard to stomach. As well as some mature content with children. It was thought-provoking and a little strange, but I would not hesitate to read it again.

    Thanks for your feedback!
