  • 4.25⭐ A great intro to the Kill Devil Hills series

What a great introduction to Ms Cross' new series Undercurrent is, with just the right amount of suspense and romance mixed into a story that had me engaged from the start. Thanks to really likable and interesting characters, and the gorgeous setting of the Outer Banks; and with lots of detail, including fun local dialect and some edge-of-your-seat moments I was thoroughly entertained throughout. And can't wait to read more from the Kill Devil Hills series in the future. Would happily recommend.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Fantastic start to a new series!

Undercurrents is a fantastic start to the newest series by this author. Aspen Savich has had a very painful and difficult couple of years so when she was finally able to leave, she moved across the states to North Carolina. Her beloved uncle left her a place where she can restart a new life. Unfortunately her problems did not resolve as she had thought. Danger is now following her. Former Coast Guard Bowie Davenport is the local mechanic, he too has had tragedy in his life and has settled to be alone. But with the appearance of Aspen and her need of his assistance, his life and his acceptance of a solitary life changes dramatically. Bowie tried to keep things professional but with the help of his siblings and the pull of Aspen herself, he could not stay away. Then with too many close calls on Aspen’s life, Bowie was all in. Overall, this was a wonderful read. The chemistry between Aspen and Bowie was strong and had me rooting for them from the very beginning. The drama and danger surrounding Aspen kept me turning the pages. And the awesome secondary characters have me looking forward to their stories.
