  • Loved this 5 star story

Here’s my simple, straightforward review. I loved it! Anna was a powerful, strong character who just wanted her life back after a horrifying accident and personal loss. The connection she has with Leif was so profound, partly in connection to the shared trauma of the accident, but also because of the people they are deep inside. Both have suffered the loss of someone close to them, brought about from betrayal. Despite their backgrounds, the are more alike than not. Anna is finding a strength and backbone to fight back and get what she deserves. Leif is coming back to the man he used to be, no longer turned into himself. They breathe life into each other. I haven’t read book one yet, it’s on my e-reader now. But I didn’t need to because Kylie Scott gave me everything I needed to know about this couple in the pages of this book. A book I’ll remember for a long time, one I’ll recommend to friends and a story that inspired me to find my own inner strength and power. Kudos and thank you!

  • Deep feels in light packet

🌟3.5 STARS🌟 What happens when two people suffer an accident and then create some unique connections? To know you have to read Pause by Kylie Scott. It had some loving characters and delivered deep feels in a light packet. . . . So the subject was pretty intense. Anna got a second life. Leif was badly injured and he is still having nightmares. They shared a morbid experience that has altered their lives. And I expected a lot more angst and emotional conflicts. But it was very laidback and simple. Almost sweet. Leif is such a good guy. He has great sense of humor and he is so supportive of Anna and careful of her feelings. Of course he can be dirty and bossy sometimes but mostly he is a good guy. Who has been hurt in relationship too. But Anna has the worse hangover and she cannot trust easily. She is a strong woman who has been hit physically and mentally and I am proud of the ways she got control of her life. This was an easy flowing romance where you see Anna and Leif's love coming alive piece by piece. It didn't have much drama. It didn't have too many twists and turns. It was low in angst and high on feel good moments. ( reviewed an early copy voluntarily)

  • Emotional, sweet, slow burn romance. LOVED this!

I absolutely loved this book! Although I loved Leif when we were introduced to him in Repeat, I hadn't anticipated a book for him, despite my wanting to see him in one so I was incredibly excited when I saw one was coming - and this definitely didn't disappoint. The book opens with Anna in the hospital waking from a coma. She had been in one for 7 months after having been in a terrible accident. Leif had also been in that same accident and despite being injured himself, had helped her while she was injured. Anna seeks him out to meet him and thank him. Both of them are reeling and dealing with their own recovery from the accident, but both are also coming from difficult endings to their relationships. Leif no longer trusts his own judgement, and is filled with guilt over his last relationship and how it ended, and Anna is still reeling from finding her husband found comfort in her best friend while she was in the coma. Together they form a friendship which turns into more. This was an emotional, sweet, slow burn romance. I love how Kylie Scott is able to inject humor even when dealing with such heavy topics. Although this is a standalone and you don't need to have read Repeat first to enjoy this and follow alone, I strongly recommend because it's a great book! I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and have voluntarily left an honest review.

  • Starting Over and Letting Go!

This a standalone romance of two character for two different worlds who met after being in a car accident. Anna has just woken up from a coma and her life is very different, her husbands has been cheating on her with her best friend. Leif, a tattooed tattoo artist saved her life and she finds comfort in him. The title is very fitting both Leif and Anna have been living their life on pause no longer sure how to move forward and who to trust. Leif was sweet and understanding with Anna, he gave her the time and space to readjust. Anna was cheated on by her husband, trusting Leif and falling for him would be a process of learning to let go. Anna stood up to her ex-husband, ex-best friend, and kept Leif at a distance until she was ready to move forward.

  • Stand for what is right!

I loved Anna and Leif! Anna is coming out of a coma. Leif was hit on his motorcycle by Anna as a result of her being hit. He reads to her while she is in the coma. He is totally swoon worthy like his brother Ed! Her husband, Ryan, cheated on her while she was in a coma with her best friend. Leif is not her normal type. He is tattooed and rides a motorcycle. I admired her spunk in standing up to what is in her comfort zone and truly coming into her own. Loved Andi Arndt’s narration!
