    Fantastic

Who says you can never go home again?? Sarge Purcell left Jersey four years ago trying his best to put Jasmine Taveras out of his head yet she shows up in every song he writes. He knows without a doubt she's his heart, his muse, his everything. He's home now and he plans to prove to Jasmine he's no longer just her best friends kid brother. He's all grown up and all man and ready to claim her as his, age difference be damn! A very well done story that will grab you right from the start. Excellent story, great characters and of course some amazing sexy times make this a fantastic read. I highly recommend it.

    Heartache

Jasmine used to babysit Sarge. He grew up knowing he wanted a future with her. A fantasy that never had a chance of coming true. Sarge has come back to his hometown all grown up. He realizes what he has missed out on. He regrets waiting so long to come back. Only he could not have made himself come sooner. Jasmine sees the grownup version of Sarge as a threat to her health. He is so hot that he causes a heatwave whenever he is near. Can she resist the man he has become? I found myself so anxious to get to the end of the story. This book has characters that just move you to feel so many things. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. What a hot and fun book! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Oh - The Mouth on this One

First off, you need to know that this boy has quite the mouth on him. I swear every word out of his mouth was about sex! While it was kinda hot at first, I wish he'd had more to say. There had to be more going on in that head of his than music and sex! I really enjoyed his tortured artist feel - tortured by a girl he never had that he had to leave behind and now he can't get her out of his mind. Jasmine was wonderful. She was sweet, sexy, hard working, talented, and just about anything else a guy could ask for in a girl. She seemed so different than Sarge, but they had some very serious chemistry that you could really feel coming right off the pages. There was a great story line of reclaiming your past, living your dreams, and living with no regrets. But - the dialog just didn't cut it for me. While I'm all for a little dirty pillow talk, this was just a bit much for my taste. *This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

sexy start to a new series!

In trademark Tessa Bailey style, the dirty talking, fast rocking Sarge is on hiatus from his very successful band to regroup and claim the woman who has eluded him for years. She's his older sister's best friend, his ex babysitter, and the star of many fantasies. But that was then and this is now and Sarge is all grown up, a muscular toned hottie with a determination to make Jasmine see him for the man he's become. Trouble is, Jasmine has been stuck in Hook New Jersey just a little too long now, with her dreams of making it as a professional singer dusty and forlorn. She's accepted her lot as a factory worker making ends meet. Though Sarge might be able to convince her to explore their newfound attraction, she's not going to let him throw away the next stage of his career by staying with her, no matter the chemistry between them. Can Sarge convince Jasmine that if she'll just take a chance with him, they can soar together? It's getting to the point that I have some clear expectations where a book by this author is concerned. Lots of sexual tension, interesting and down to earth settings, hot hot sex with a man who clearly knows his way around a woman's body, and generally speaking, women who either have that feistiness innate to their character or develop it as they gain confidence from the attentions of a hot male in their midst. I really liked Sarge's character in this story. The rock star persona was an interesting characteristic that gives the reader the background to understanding why he's been away, and also why he's returned to Hook to reconnect with his sister, meet his 3 year old niece, and convince Jasmine that he's not the little boy she thinks he is anymore. It's kind of a rock star story, but kind of not, since the band is on hiatus (though we do get to see some of the other members in the story) but the fame still follows Sarge around when he's out in public. He comes across as very mature (22 years old, but 4 years of that on the road with a rock band will cause you to grow up fast), a man who knows what he wants, and a man who is comfortable in his own skin. Jasmine is the unsure factor here, she of the broken dreams and barely satisfying life as a factory employee with a singing voice that's been put to rest, presumably for good. She's a good friend to River, Sarge's sister though, and that comes through clearly. I really liked that when River found out that Sarge and Jasmine were sleeping together she didn't freak out over it, but accepted it like an adult and it didn't become a source of conflict for them. The age difference between Sarge and Jasmine is an issue at first, but fortunately not for long as Jasmine realizes that Sarge is not just interested in her on a whim, but that she's been his muse for his music for years and that his feelings for her are much deeper than she would have ever imagined. So of course, the sex is a big part of the story, and with the chemistry between them their love scenes were super hot! If I had one complaint it would be that the dirty talking was a little over the top for me in this one. I can't believe people actually talk like that in real life and though sometimes a turn on, there were some phrases that definitely made me aware of Sarge's younger age (I'll leave you to read the story and figure out which ones I'm talking about). The plot moves along fairly predictably, and the secondary characters give some insight into future stories that will be told in the series. Overall, I found it an enjoyable and sexy read. 4 stars.

    Needed more of a story

I'm not really a fan of rock-star romances, but the older woman/younger man angle of this story was what hooked me. Plus, it's Tessa Bailey. Need I say more? Sarge Purcell left his small, dead-end New Jersey town behind in his quest for success and channeled his hunger for an unattainable woman into the lyrics that have earned him and his band accolades, but after years away from home, he's returning to reconnect with his family and finally make the woman he's always wanted see him as a man. Jasmine Taveras expected that a music career would be her one-way ticket out of Hook, New Jersey but things didn't work out as expected and she's been stuck in the life she wanted to avoid, working on the floor of the town's only factory. Sarge's return is something to look forward to but the tall, hot and very sexy man is very far from the cute boy she babysat and the teen that left Hook a few years ago. Jasmine has major reservations about getting involved with Sarge because of their age difference, the fact that he's her best friend's younger brother as well as a fear of being labeled an opportunist for hitching her star to the man who attained the success she always wanted. But Sarge overcomes all her resistance. The premise for this book is a solid one and when combined with Ms. Bailey's ability to write hot scenes and dirty talkers, this should have been a very interesting read. Only, the focus was on the sex, but the characters did not have anything in common (apart from the sexual attraction, that is) and the story was lacking, which sucks because there really is a story in there somewhere. I'm really bummed that I could not enjoy this story as I expected but I hope that the next book has more of a story than this one did. That said, if you are looking for a steamy and sexy read, this may be just the book you're looking for. Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.
